Now if they get rid of the spiders I'll buy this game on the day of release.
Indeed, giant spiders are never allowed to exist. If we ever meet an alien race of giant spiders, I don't care how peaceful and benevolent they are, we have no choice but to wipe them out. But I think that's a moot point because it is logically impossible for a giant spider to be benevolent.
I see someone else subscribes to the Starship Troopers school of thought when it comes to alien spiders.
Wasn't even thinking of Starship Troopers, it's a universal truth.
True but Starship Troopers is the codeword for the plan.

Meh. I'm still not feeling the hype.
After Failout 3 stung me as bad it did though, I don't think I'll ever buy a Bethesda title on release again.

Fair dues. Great movie too. Not sure why they made sequels.

More voice actors?

Hallelujah!

But... how many more? Because if they just went from "10" to "11" or something like that, I'll be pissed.
I heard they had doubled the cast from fallout 3. However I doubt that is true, but if it is kudos bethesda.
LOL that works for me. I honestly didn't find Fallout 3's voice acting or whatnot with major problems, but still it seems like Skyrim is sounding more like something I could really get into like I did with FO3 (Oblivion...couldn't get into, will probably try it out soon in anticipation for Skyrim but we'll seeee)

Yay! I get to be a whore!

Seriously though, it does kind of sound like an escort service... and not the kind I'm sure they had in mind. Well that and Firefly.
hahahaha nooo not a "whore" but a respectable...um...yeah whore :p first thing that came to my mind when I read that too ;p

When they got rid of unarmored skill in Oblivion I was sad, now with the removal of hand-to-hand fighting skill I am pissed. I guess its only cool to wield a sword and wear plate.

I'd prefer it if they made it so you only get bountied for a crime if your caught, it's ridiculous otherwise. 'Oh I was in the street outside when you stole that apple but my ex ray vision allows me to arrest you citizen!'

etc.

I remember the fun I had climbing onto a roof and fighting off the army of guards, it was a lot of fun, but it was a pain when I'd finally escape only to forget that I had the bounty when I entered the next town. Overall I'm definitely looking forward to Skyrim.

I had a feeling they were going to be ditching hand to hand. Unless your game is actually based around hand to hand or martial arts fighting it's probably not worth having it. Although I think they should have kept it but made made some hand to hand weapons. I'm a little surprised that they didn't. Fallout 3 had hand to hand weapons. And New Vegas had even more. Oh well. People modded in hand to hand weapons and fighting styles before, they can do it again.

As for the guards, any third rate modder can make tougher guards. That shouldn't be hard.

Additionally, Bethesda has given the mages and fighters guild more character, replacing their generic names with the "College of Winter Hold" for mages, and "The Companions" for warriors.
Are these Companions going to be Brave, by any chance? If they are, players could be in for an unpleasant surprise [http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Brave_Companions].
Quite possibly a very bad surprise, but the comedic relief of Vargo's horrible lisp would make things quite entertaining methinks :p

This is awesome. One of the major things that really bugged me about oblivion were the APBs that guards were apparently able to send each other. I like playing rogue characters, and this severely decreased my enjoyment, which caused me to stop playing. I was already going to give the elder scrolls series another shot, but I'm slowly building up cautious optimism with each new bit of preview that comes out.

Only if you get to have a zebra to ride. ;) Could also be you get to play a blue-eyed, telepathic white horse...

In all fairness the fast-travel feature is there for the casual who prob hasnt played any of the elder scrolls, it's not forced upon anyone. However, just knowing that it's there can make even the most hardcore fan cheat thier way out of a journey. Here, have a look at this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1792

Hopefully they balance out the crime and punishment system. I hated having gaurds chase me, spending time in prison and arbitrarily losing some stats and... It just felt really shallow to me.

And the levelling, dear God the levelling. Until I have the system in MY hands i'll be scared. Please just have areas with more difficult enemies and others with easier ones... It just makes more sense... Follow the Fallout New Vegas model please.

The Companions?

What kind of name is that? At least "Fighters Guild" gave some kind of indication what they were about.

The Companions sounds like an escort service or some kind of YMCA.

And hurry up and show us a picture of an Argonian.

that sounds like a pretty bad fix for the guards that doesn't really address the issue. never being able to return to town xyz because you stole a wheat there is slightly better than not being able to enter any town because you stole a wheat, but it's still not an ideal state of affairs
besides, while it's good that they're addressing one fault of oblivion there are still hundreds more that they'd need to fix for skyrim to be good

Oblivion was a good game but I thought it was a step backwards from Morrowind. Instanced towns and are much less immersive than ones you can run through without loading.
They did that because of the console's inferior memory.
There's a mod that brings out all the cities into the world, so the loading's eliminated.
