Is the UK still paying off the debts from the South Sea bubble? I recall hearing that somewhere but I'd rather hear it from an actual UK citizen who isn't a Brexiteer.
Sort of yes and mostly no.

For instance the USA lent a load of money to the UK during and after WW2, which the UK had specific conditions to pay back over ~60 years. So those specific "contracts" were technically all paid off over ten years ago. However, the UK had to borrow money to meet all its financial obligations over those 60 years (including the war debt repayments to the USA), meaning that in effect that some of the debt was refinanced with new lenders rather than paid off, so it could be argued that it's still on the books.

Due to inflation and economic growth, those annual war repayments and interest ended up very, very small - under £50 million a year. To illustrate this another way, Britain runs an annual deficit of ~£50 billion per year which is larger (in nominal pounds) than its entire national debt at the end of WW2 (~£20 billion).

Thus the same argument could be made about the South Sea Bubble debt still existing (but also likewise that due to inflation and economic growth the amount owed would be so vanishingly small as to not worth thinking about). All it more realistically means is that the UK has never entirely paid off its national debt since the South Sea Bubble.

Nah, you wanna argue the one place you can squeeze out a leg to stand on, agriculture has fuckall to do with the reality of the EC, as I already demonstrated. I’m not walking down this bullshit path for you so you can get off on owning libs now that they don’t let Tories own Pakistani boys as easily.
Well if you hadn't lied through your teeth claiming only California was one of the major producers I'd not be able to stop your attempt to sweep the leg by pulling out infographics like this

You'll note far from your claims California is NOT the only one.

Now I get that you get off on lying and then jerking yourself off when you sneak a lie past people then trying to cast aspersions against people because your fellow revolutionaries are just angry little boys lashing out but next time try a little harder at least.

I live in a country where this horror story proposition that the population centers are disconnected from the resources, but the majority controls the politics.

I even live in the state with a high distribution of resources, but lower population.
It's...fine. The horror story fallout being suggested just doesn't happen.

These horror story scenarios just aren't a reality. They're obnoxiously stupid and assume people have zero ability to think past their immediate situation.

Like you're really trying to sell the idea all them dumb city folk are gonna say "Farms don't matter, we dont need to eat! Screw those guys!"

I can't roll my eyes hard enough bud.

The fact trade talks have started suggests the UK wasn't sent to the back of the queue
Yea.. Get back to me when they have a deal that passes Congress. I wouldn't hold your breath. Talk is cheap.

Nothing is moving forward without the Good Friday Agreement.

Given we’re talking about states not counties, your infographic is pretty bullshit. Maybe look at the statewide production. On a second glance, I did do my division wrong though. There’s 21 states with over mean agricultural production and 8 of those are in the bottom half of the population. Sadly only 6 states on either seaboard.
So yeah, your argument sucks ass. Some of the states most benefitted by the EC, the smaller New England states, have next to zero agricultural output.
Edit - adding on, of the twelve states that get as many or more votes from senators than reps, only three make up more than 2% of the nation’s agricultural output. You get four if you look at the intersection of 2 or less reps and less than .2% of agricultural output.

Talk is cheap but getting to start them is far less costly than having to wait.

We'll see on what happens with Ireland but it won't be simple that's for certain it might come down to what Ireland will accept in the end and compromise between what both sides want.

Also you're looking at ranking via $ value which is a misleading metric as Wine could be counted as agricultural output so what $150 a bottle of wine would give higher output than $5 a punnet of grapes for example so it depends more on the product. A $5 burger vs a $500 steak could be another example of such disparities.

That's the true issue with your argument really lol You've fallen for the trap that outright $ is the same as volume.

I am not seeing " talks" as a start though. Remember all those talks May had with the EU? LMAO

The US isn't seeing anything to compromise on with the good Friday agreement, like at all. The only people I see that think that at all are some of the delusional Tories. No one else does.

Edit - I know you’re about to galaxy brain this by saying you meant to use a graph that did this to show how California farms are all wineries. I also don’t care. You’re the most Tory human being I’ve ever spoken to. Don’t you have genocides to deny?
Edit2 - Also California makes more money from dairy and almonds than grapes (which would include the selling/production of wine grapes, from what I can tell the wine itself does not count as an agricultural product).

Yeh and it saved the UK over £2 Billion in the end from even if the 2nd lot of talks didn't lead anywhere enough was bashed out that the Johnson talks were only then over smaller details in the end.

Also half of the issue with the May talks was the UK parliament rejecting the deal due to it being a minority government in coalition thus the margin was like 8 people and all you need is 8 people on your own side who think you're not being harsh enough with the EU to stop the deal in the end.

Your first mistake was assuming dwarven actually reads any information he's presented. He just skims looking for something to attack which "debunks" it.

Please do not insult your fellow Escapist users
Which would still be better than total $ output which you were using lol

Yours wasn't even "Average" it was total $s.
Oh god you’re not even galaxy braining it, you really are just extremely dumb.

He is a Tory
I find it rather hilarious though Tories think that Trump wants to give them a good deal when ALL Trump wants to do is send them poisoned apples and steal their contracts and give them to the same companies poisoning the apples..
