A fair point. I'm glad the advice has been taken.
Creating terrible, terrible music does not necessarily make you a bad person. I really hate how people pray fr others, though. It's kind of condescending, though the intention is n doubt noble.
Well, I'd have to disagree with you, mostly in the sense that you should really take in to account the context of what the prayer is for.

Essentially, If I were you and did not believe in god, then simply ignore God from the scenario. This isn't a "I'm praying for your souls". It's basically a declaration saying, I'm thinking about you, and sending my best wishes that good fortune comes your way, and that you may get through your misfortune easier.

In this context, "Keep them in your prayers." is essentially the same as "Keep them in your thoughts." There's really nothing condescending about it, all it means is that someone that believes in God is hopeful that hard times for you end.

What is this link supposed to show us?

EDIT: Isn't it another poster who says 'your prayers are worthless?

EDIT 2: So a guy is telling a rich kid to donate money? This is the big deal?
No, the big deal is that some kid with a shit load of money and a BS reputation for being "not-a-douche" thinks of sending a prayer(an act of folding ones hand and asking GOD really nicely to help them that usually doesn't work unless you do it frequently and with meaning) over money(something that could do some REAL good over a deity who works in small and mysterious ways never directly showing himself).
1) What world do you live in where Justin Bieber has a "not-a-douche" reputation?

2) How do you know what his financial dealings are?

3) You sound insulting towards people who pray for others.

4) Why am I sounding like I'm defending some pop idol?

5) Bill Gates is one of the most generous (ranked as the second most generous philanthropists in America in 2007) people to have ever lived. (Donation wise)

I just wanted to throw that last point out there for no other reason than Bill gets a lot of unreasonable hate too. I think it's mostly his wife doing it tho.
Actually, Bill Gats gets a lot of hate because of the long, long list of problems present in Microsoft products. Red Ring of Death, numerous windows crashes, how difficult and obtuse windows is to use, the fact that pressing CTRL ALT DEL on vista won't let you simply exit out of an unresponsive program (like a videogame) and close it, but rather allows you to turn off the entire computer or switch profiles (which is ridiculous, I could easily choose to do those things if I wanted after I had closed a non responsive program), Games for Windows Live, as well as problem upon problem with an overwhelmingly large number of other things Microsoft does.

People hate him because the company he has a lot of control over releases faulty, obtuse products and services.

I lol'd.

Babs got smacked down for his inane comment as he should have been.
Also, would anyone care to reference these 'numerous sources' for the supposed 'millions'?

Come on, let's see some reliable information!
Quick google search has the info. Apparently he's doubling the donations of everyone on his fan site for the next 24 hours.
In which case, the Twitter comment stands righteous.

Babs is a poser. Why match donated funds when he has more than enough money already?
Surely he's got a superfluous hundred thousand or so he could donate already?

You can't possibly be this dumb.

He's doing it to encourage more people to donate. This way, he doubles the amount of money the charities receive.

At the end of the day, the Twitter response was baseless. Saying "I'm praying for them" is not the same as saying, "I'm not giving them money." To assume so is stupid. Then again, what should I expect from people who spend so much time criticizing music meant for children.

You know I was expecting something a bit more witty as a response. I'm sorry, but I do not consider Mr Bieber to be "served".

Right, because children's music was so creative back when you were a kid right?

How do people become this pretentious? Is there like a hipster college or something?

Golly, I thought this was just a funny quip to poke at the fallacy of the famous. Little did I know it was secretly a moral debate in disguise...
I feel inclined to agree with you. I thought it was pretty funny. That might just be because I'm agnostic, but... yeah. that made me chuckle.

that kid has like 25 million dollars, apparently. and there has been no news of him donating any of it to Japan relief, despite the fact that he clearly knows that they need all the help they can get over there.

and the cliche of him "praying" for them is not only BS, but its true that it wont help them in the slightest bit. a million bucks would help a hell of a lot more, and hes good for it

God I'm having a fucked up day...

That little tart kid bieber should be able to do whatever the hell he wants with his darn money, and so what if he earned it fast some ppl get lucky and I can think of worse things in life then a annoying kid making money.

What really grinds my gears is that every1 seems to wanna "save" humanity but 98% just don't do shit and the rest seem to focus on saving as many human lives as they can. More humans means less food wich means starvation to the less fortunate, more diseases, increasing violence and wars over rich lands, fucked up weather from us polluting and stripping the earth of all its resources. And this is all gonna come together in one big pot where our dear sweet earth says FU and hit reset button!

4: Prayers do help. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just being a anti-theist douchebag and clearly has not heard the term "moral/emotional support"
Chalk me up as an anti-theist douchebag then, because me offering "moral/emotional support" for people on the other side of the world when they've lost everything is about as worthwhile as this whole topic, and to think otherwise is belittling the suffering of those affected by this tragedy.

Yea infact it was, you'd probally know if you weren't 12 years old. Now it's just reused beats with a different shitty autotune voice raping your earcanals.
I don't know if I can think of a insult more agonizingly awful as "you'd probably know if you weren't 12 years old". Why not throw a "your momma so fat" joke in their while you're at it, champ?

How about instead of saying "yea infact it was", you actually NAME these songs. I'd love some examples of these children's pop songs that were so intellectually stimulating to you as a kid.

I'm American, so I vaguely recall something about "Hello Barbie, Let's Go Party"? Besides that, I recognize nothing.

Even smosh, who make significantly less than bieber, sent $2500. That makes him look pretty bad, doesn't it?
