Well, I used the search bar and found nothing about what I wanted to ask.

Anywho, what would be the biggest PC game in terms of hard drive size and/or map size that you know of?

When I say biggest in map, what do you reckon would have the largest span in terms of travel distance or size etc. (Think I just said the same thing twice)

World of Warcraft and GTA excluded.

Assassin's Creed II is massive. Been playing like 30 hours and still not finished. Though, I would most likely have to say in terms of map size, any of the final Fantasy's... they have an entire world for you to explore! Except X and X-2.
Also, Infamous was pretty damn big as well.
As crap as the game was, Oblivion had a massive world. You could travel in the wilderness for like an hour without reaching a town or dungeon.

Dragon Age: Origins takes up a ridiculously huge 20GB. That's the largest I can think of, but it's been a few years since I had a computer capable of playing the latest games.

Yes, but the whole damn game is finishable in a day, and oh yeah, it was pretty bad.

But, the world isn't all THAT big.

Yeah I reckon. If you ask me it was tonnes bigger then Oblivion. Especially with all the expansion packs.

In terms of HD space the biggest game I currently have installed is MW2 at 11.1GB but I expect it to be beaten soundly by ME2.

The OP didn't ask for longest or for any level of quality. Map size was asked and I doubt any game has a larger map then spore.

Well, Morrowind is geographically the biggest, but for sheer amount of things to find and interact with its gotta be Fallout 3.

Agreed. I tried to run from one side of the map to the other (from South to North), mostly out of curiosity, to see how long it would take. After 3 ingame days of running I barely made it a quarter out of the whole distance...

Daggerfall.

"Daggerfall is the largest Elder Scrolls game to date, featuring a game world estimated as being 161,600 square kilometres (62,394 square miles or 40,400,000 acres) with over 15,000 towns, cities, villages, and dungeons for the player's character to explore. According to Todd Howard, Elder Scrolls programmer, the game's sequel, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is 0.01% the size of Daggerfall..."

Admittedly, it is all randomly generated, but hey, it's massive.

You could lose it in a corner of the map for Daggerfall.

You can walk across Vvardenfell in realtime in 30-40 minutes. You would take days doing the same in Daggerfall.

If I remember correctly, I think Oblivion is a little bigger.

However, neither compares to Dagggerfall, which actually produces an area the size of Great Britain.

Just Cause (both first and second) has 1024 square kilometer map, if i remember correctly. Not as big as FUEL's 10000, but still impressive. Take a look at San Esperito. Upper small map is San Andreas, lower small map is Mercs 2' Venesuela.

Although on reflection, JC is definetly not biggest game - just fairly large one.

While 15,000 towns, cities and such are large does it really compare to Spore which has 500,000 planets?

In terms of Harddrive size, I know Age of Conan took something stupid like 30gb

In terms of map size... probably GTA: SA? :/

Spore's Galaxy isn't really so much a map as it is a UI... A few dots (planets) on your screen to click on and visit. The planets themselves are the size of peas and pretty much all the same (with different colours) until you go to town on them with your terraforming

edit: Crap! Double post, sorry

Nope, Morrowind is definitely bigger (than Oblivion).
