Ah fair enough, misunderstood you for two reasons. Due to the quote before your comment it seemed you were referring to Yahtzee and It didn't really seem like Istickell compared anything, just said "A comparison couldn't be made between the two until the third game!"
My bad,...kiddo. Ha.
Guess i should try to show who i'm quoting better than just bolden the words next time then...It's a quite confusing discussion tbh, had to read through the whole quote thing a few times to make sure i was right b4 i posted to begin with.
Before me, youngling, you will now bow!

agreed, this discussion was very odd. Wait, youngling? Are you Darth Vader? If so I think I would rather run than bow. ha.

On topic though, are you looking forward to Bioshock 2?

The youngling is a yoda quote... just thought kiddo had been used enough.

TBH i have to play bioshock one first, i dunno why, but i didn't get it when it came out and every time i've thought of it, it came off my mind again... I'm the un-official master of not getting anything non-important done.

That seems to be a lot of peoples problem. It is definitely worth a play though.

So i've heard. Only problem is I don't have the time to play all the games i want to play :S I should really get a decent labtop, i could play games well over 50% of the time at my job :p I'm just too cheap to spend lots of money on a labtop when i already have a powerfull PC at home

Ya, I'm pretty exited for this game. I wonder if you will get to keep all of your powers or if you'll play as a completely new person. Guess we gotta wait and see.

Anyone else excited about this game.
You know what excites me? Question marks, at the end of questions. Call me crazy, but I really like them.
Mordern 21st centuary writing skills?
Witchcraft and sorcery, burn him at the stake.

In all seriousness I can't wait for Bioshock 2, I just hope they keep the horror game aspects and don't turn it into another "shoot everyone up with your stockpile of ammo" like towards the end of the first one

I absolutely loved BioShock. It's the last game I can remember where I played nothing but that until I beat it. Hopefully BioShock 2 will be more of the same, with Ken Levine writing (Levine kicks all sorts of ass). I'm a bit worried about the whole "play as a Big Daddy" thing, and I'm equally worried because the BioShock story wrapped up so well. The somethinginthesea.com website looks pretty neat, and I'll probably buy this on day one anyway, whether it lives up to the original or not.

I dunno....I dont really know why but i feel no excitement towards it. I liked the concept of the original up until you became a big daddy, so the second one sort of keeps going in the wrong direction for me.

No idea. I'm waiting for reviews. Loved the first Bioshock, but the more I hear, the more skeptical I am.
This sums it up for me.

What happens when you take Bioshock, remove Andrew Ryan, remove the year 1960, and remove Rapture? You have a very samey shooter except this one is special because you can shoot fireballs with a blue bar under your health bar.

Well, we'll see, but it just "makes me skeptical."

High hopes? Yes.
High expectations? No.

Thats just silly :p

I think one of the best parts of Bioshock 1 was the great detail that was put into the story. I think that they certainly have the capacity of doing the same thing in Bioshock 2, even if you play as the first prototype big daddy with a drill arm and rivetgun...

Maybe someday I'll be interested in it. Maybe when I play it. But right now it doesn't arouse the gamer in me.

I haven't played number one but from the screen shots it looked like the bastard child of system shock and fallout. Nothing i'm really excited for.
Ooh, im cool, i can quote yahtzee with no real thoughts/opinions of my own !!!
no seriously, it is a bastard child of system shock and fallout.

fallout had the '50s sci-fi charm, while system shock had the FPS-RPG and character customization aspect.

bring those together and you get Bioshock.

I was skeptical, but the article on it in Gameinformer actually made me excited for this game. It seems to be going in an interesting direction.
QFT. It's one thing to try and come up with a contrived reason for Protagonist X to return to Location Y after barely escaping Situation Z with nary a backward glance. It's quite another to take Location Y and take established story elements and mechanics in a different direction. If Game Informer is to believed, it seems that BioShock 2 is aiming for the latter category.

(Also, iconlove.)

I might be. Played the demo for the first one on PC and it was pretty good (though the graphics and quite shitty)
I'm sorry sir, but you must be mistaken.

Might you have been playing System Shock, Bioshock's spiritual predecessor, instead?
Because in that case, it was created quite a while back in the earlier days of gaming, and as such, it cannot be faulted much for its graphical inadequacies when compared to today's standards.

Or perhaps your PC was simply unable to support the massive graphical requirements and you tuned them down, deciding to blame the game for your depreciated experience.
Yeah no. You seem to have a problem with me thinking that the graphics are bad, just becuase you seem to praise them so much.

If the issue were really so inconsequential to you, you wouldn't have mentioned it so prominently.

I don't it would just stink if you had to limp the whole time. Bouncing camera doesn't sound like much fun for a whole game
