Guy's don't preorder stuff, it's not good for us as consumers in the long run, regardless of what incentives they give or if they game is actually good.
Nope. Fuck that.
If I know a game will be good and it comes with great incentives of other games I wanted/know are good. I will pre-order.
I have only ever been burned once on a pre-order and that was Brink. Then again, I let my friends persuade me into getting that game, a game I originally had no want for. I learned from my mistake and won't be making the same mistake twice.
How do you know the game will be good? Have you played it? Have you even played a demo? I get that you mean based on the quality of the previous games you suspect you will enjoy this one but that is at least 50% wishful thinking.
How will I know it will be good? Well lets see...
- I know my likes.
- I know my dislikes.
With this simple criteria, I have only had one single game out of well over a few hundred games I have pre-ordered in all my years fail me, and that was only because the game had very bad servers on the 360.

There aren't enough facepalm images on the internet for this.
Here's the thing: you
don't know if that game will be good.
Actually, I do. I know a game will be good 99% of the time. I know that the next Kingdom Hearts game will be amazing. I know I will laugh my ass off at the next Disgaea. I know the next Metal Gear Solid title will make my cry tears of joy. I know what I like and what I dislike. That makes all the difference. I KNOW I will like a certain game, so I will buy it. However, there is one major caveat to games and most artistic media: It differs from person to person. Some people think God of War, Gears of War, Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, Call of Duty, on and on, are bad games. Some think they are decent games. Some think they are great games. Some think they are godly games.
I know what games I will enjoy. I know the games I won't enjoy. Hell, just using those two tiny criteria I know that I will enjoy a certain game even before it comes out.
For Laymans terms since you probably won't understand as I write like shit:
For games I like: I buy/Pre-order.
For games I don't like: I stay away from.
For games I am on the fence on: I wait until I play a demo/get it very cheap/read reviews.
