If someone can't be bothered to play the first game they shouldn't be "bothered" to play the second.TaborMallory said:iain62a said:Maybe you should just get the original Bioshock?Sometimes, one cannot be bothered to play a previous game.Reep said:It would be a lot better to play the original Bioshock, there's no rush since number 2 wont come out for a while.
Play Bioshock, enjoy it and you will appreciate the story a lot more than if one of us told you.
Why the hell not? If the second seems attractive, then it's a good idea to play it. But it might be that actually playing the first doesn't seem like something he wants to do, and that's his decision. OP should be commended for actually wanting any background knowledge when he's planning on playing the sequel. Most people who wants to play Bioshock 2 without having played Bioshock would just play it and not bother with the prequel at all.JackB said:If someone can't be bothered to play the first game they shouldn't be "bothered" to play the second.TaborMallory said:iain62a said:Maybe you should just get the original Bioshock?Sometimes, one cannot be bothered to play a previous game.Reep said:It would be a lot better to play the original Bioshock, there's no rush since number 2 wont come out for a while.

In a few cases, a sequel has everything from the first game and more, with the exception of a different story. An excellent example is Gears of War.JackB said:If someone can't be bothered to play the first game they shouldn't be "bothered" to play the second.TaborMallory said:iain62a said:Maybe you should just get the original Bioshock?Sometimes, one cannot be bothered to play a previous game.Reep said:It would be a lot better to play the original Bioshock, there's no rush since number 2 wont come out for a while.

I'll tell you why. For $15 he can get a used copy of the game. If someone tells you about a game then there is only so much you can take from it. If you play the game you can get the experience and get a feel for what the second one will be like. But lets assume he doesn't play it. He goes and gets Bioshock 2 for $60 and doesn't like it. That's $60 dollars gone on a game he doesn't like. It wouldn't be the first time a game looked good but failed to deliver. It would just be smarter for him to get his hands on a used copy of Bioshock and see if he likes it.SultanP said:Why the hell not? If the second seems attractive, then it's a good idea to play it. That's a pretty good point, thanks for elaborating. However i still think it's his choice. I've personally found reading about the game very interesting, more so than actually playing it.JackB said:I'll tell you why. For $15 he can get a used copy of the game. Fine. I respect your side of this discussion. But, I think your wrong. Personal playing experience would be better. BTW, your welcome. I hate people who just can't back up what they say. Instead of an actual reason, its just a one line response; Then after you ask them to explain, they can't respond b/c they don't know.SultanP said:That's a pretty good point, thanks for elaborating.
