I know someone who's pre-ordered the N7 Collectors Edition from Game and he listed the amount of stuff that comes included with it, and it's a fair amount of extras. The info is on the Game UK site. It seems like the bonuses for over here are simply packaged in a more expensive edition (£70 to be precise). I've seen nothing of any extras for simply pre-ordering the game.
When the N7 CE was announced back at E3, it would seem pre-order bonuses had not been ironed out yet. The bonuses mentioned in this article are new, so many retailers haven't had the chance to add whatever offer they're getting yet.

Maybe someone here will know the answer to this...

The game industry continues to complain about used games, correct? Gamestop is the big used game people, costing the game industry tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars, correct (I'm referring to direct losses, not here for a debate as to whether used games are good or not)?

So why do game companies give big boosts like this to companies like Gamestop? If a new gamer has always bought their stuff at Best Buy and sees this offer, they'll head on over to Gamestop. You just gave Gamestop a shiny new customer who may or may not have realized how much cheaper all these used games are compared to the new ones he keeps buying.

EA's recent treatment of customers and the story leaks for ME3 pretty much turned me off of EA games. Will most likely not buy Mass effect 3...

Wow an assault rifle and armor, I'm betting those are really unique items in the game... apart from the other 50 or so.

Crap, this news just made me realize that EA isn't putting games on Steam anymore, which is going to be weird since that's where I bought/played the last two. Guess I'll have to figure out where I'm getting a box copy from, because I ain't touching Origin.
I garuntee you it will require origin for PC even if you buy a box'd copy.

Over here in Oz, you get different preorder bonuses depending where you order from and almost every store has them. I don't see why it's such an issue.

This is shitty. Publishers really need to stop giving GameStop extra benefits over other retailers. It makes sense to add stuff to the Origin version, since that's EA's platform, but GameStop... gah...

Well, I'm not going to move my pre-order. I've got it with a retailer that actually provides good service for its customers.
Just goes to show that Gamestop is NOT an enemy to the publishers. Next time you see an anti-used games/anti-Gamestop thread, remember things like this.

The thing is that GameStop is (in the US) the biggest retailer of both new and used games. That's part of why it's so hard for the publishers to take action against retailers of used games, as they don't want to risk getting on GameStop's bad side.

Instead, they just end up getting on their customers' bad side with their online passes and shit.

Am i the only one who is confused by the game companys always giving gamestop buyers extra special deals.
I mean they complain how the used games market is ruining them, but they still make a lot of effort to support gamestop, who is a very big deal in the used game market.
i don't understand it.

Oh right, the publishers are the victims here and Gamestop are twisting their arm. Where does this apologetic BS come from? Is there a church somewhere?

Once again, I have to prove that I am not a bot.

Me either, unless the whole "we hate used game sales" is just a cover for certain DRM schemes like online passes.

I think its more a matter of Gamestop offering EA the most money for bonuses. I doubt EA is just giving them out.
Well, they must not hate used games too much if they are helping to get people into Gamestop.

Due to laws and such here in Scandinavia, every retailer have ALL the pre-order bonuses, it's called the Nordic Edition, so this doesn't bother me much.

No, I just said -- though perhaps not clearly enough -- in the last sentence that the customers are the ones who end up being the victims, due to the publishers' conflicting interests with the retailers.

But it is a fact that retailers have threatened to stop stocking products from specific publishers due to publisher business practices the retailers see as potentially detrimental to their profits. That's why digital distribution platforms like Steam have to charge the full physical retail price for new games.

I'll think I'll wait to see the reviews, regardless. Mostly because the Gamestop near me often gives out Pre-Order bonuses left over if they have any. I got the one for New Vegas nearly a year after it came out.
