This. But at least he's completely honest and not trying to use some PRspeak bullshit.

Just to be clear: we're taking a pair of tweets super-ultra seriously yeah, dismissing the possibility it's a joke based on the whole "lesbian sex simulator" thing?

Maybe the Escapist should ask the Bioware GM for on-the-record clarification before running a story. Wouldn't want to be burned a second week in a row.

Eh, this kinda lowers my interest, to be honest.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sex in games, or sex scenes as such. However, listing it as a "feature" just seems a bit insulting to me. Almost like the people in charge are saying "You want the titties don't ya? That's why you're here, isn't it?". And the answer is "No, that's not why I'm here. I'm here for the Sci-Fi/Space Opera." Not to mention that Bioware romances are at this point as formulaic, predictable and soulless as your average CoD game...

Or a Krogan stud. It's time we get to see one of those hunks nekkid.

Witcher 3 did Boobs & Butts, but even they shied away from genitalia. I hope the sex scenes don't have the cheesy 70's soundtracks.
After finishing The Witcher 3 I was surprised how little of the naughty stuff the game had. Maybe my choices didn't help, but it felt more tasteful than the first Witcher at least.

Meh. There's already multiple content creators making fully animated and voiced 3D animations where the characters bone each other like crazy, so this has little value as a selling point to me. I'm not interested in it to begin with, I haven't even played the original trilogy.

In other news there's been widely observed failures in people regarding the part of their brain that recognizes sarcasm and/or being a cheeky bastard.

I don't understand why nudity or sex is such an outrage... It's not like you're forced to flagellate yourself when you have "nasty thoughts" while playing a game nor is god going to come to make the backs of your hands grow hair if you have a wank.

I'm tired of people treating sex and sexuality as a taboo. Censoring sexuality and treating it like it's some arcane subject just leads to people being really awkward with it when they come into contact with situations that involve sex and sexuality. It's natural, like eating and taking a dump. Shitting in a toilet probably won't come up as a cutscene in the game even though it is natural, but then again, visiting the loo hardly ever serves as an important aspect in a relationship story.

If you're not comfortable with graphic sexual content, or if it doesn't fit your principles I doubt you're forced by the main story to experience it. That all said, I agree that if you have the option of having multiple different types of relationships in-game they should cater to the diverse array of sexual orientations there is on our world. You should be able to have a platonic relationship as well as your sexual one.

Seriously? At this point people will take any silly excuse to shit on ME:A.
First of all, those tweets sounded really jokey so it seems a bit absurd to extrapolate to "OMG BIOWARE REPLACES STORY WITH FANSERVICE!!!".

Second, if they want to have a little more nudity in the romance scenes IMO that's a good thing. The obsession with keeping everything PG-13 in the past two games lead to absurd moments like Tranor[SP?] showering in her underwear or Mshep and Jack laying in bed fully clothed.

Third, I would remind everyone that in The Witcher, a game series that the Escapist and Reddit inform me is "the greatest RPG ever" the fist game had sex cards, the second started with a slow lingering shot of Triss's ass and had a steady drip of totally pointless sex scenes, and the third had it's fair share of sorceress boning. So semi-explicit sex =/= a bad or shallow game.

the game has a provisional "M" for blood, strong language, nudity, strong sexual content and violence
I have no real problem with any of those things in a game, but if that combination isn't enough to merit an AO, I've got to wonder what that rating even exists for.

I hope they're inclusive enough to let me make non-Shepard being fat and ugly as fuck, so I can at least make fun of two plastic dolls rubbing on each other more easily.

With the assumption I'd buy it in the first place. Maybe, if it hasn't those motherfucking Bioware points for DLC.

See, this is why I'm skeptical about Mass Effect: Andromeda. Instead of making a sci-fi action/RPG, they made a sci-fi porn game. If I wanted that, I'd go to a porn game site.

I might be excited about this...if Bioware's female character designs weren't so damn ugly. I often wonder if that's just incompetence on their part or if they're pandering to feminists.

I'm utterly amazed that he thinks that would be a selling point even as a joke. I mean, the dudes are decent enough I suppose (Aside from the plastic glossy sheen that is returning from Inquisition.), but the ladies. I mean, for starters there's PeeBee the Shreksari, Cora seems like they went backwards with how uncanny Miranda looked, And Vetra who's a Turian. (No offense to Garrus fans out there, but you and I both know his mug ain't the reason he's got fangirls.)

I'm just wondering where it all went wrong. ME1 didn't have faces NEARLY this bad. Heck, even Miranda didn't trigger the Uncanny Valley this badly for me!

The question is, what demographic?

There's a very small crossover between the people who'd want porn and don't mind the unappealing character designs.
Two words: "game journalists". Gotta get those rave reviews and GOTY awards to make up for all the squandered general goodwill this brand once had.

And as for these Twitterings, standard hype. Get one set of articles for tweeting something mildly "outrageous", get another set for going "LOL, JK!" Seems to have worked as planned. Still, it's always sad to see how low the ambitions of the once mighty have sunk.
