This is why I could never be a spokesperson for anything, I would have to constrain my natural urge to sass everyone.

God, I get that. The urge to sass, it's just too damn strong!

That said - really, Aaryn? Because Mass Effect *wasn't* already a sci-fi themed series of airport paperback romance novels with Skinemax-worthy cheese? Telling me there's going to be sex in a BioWare RPG just makes me roll my eyes and say "Yeah, the sky's blue. So what?"

I'm utterly amazed that he thinks that would be a selling point even as a joke. I mean, the dudes are decent enough I suppose (Aside from the plastic glossy sheen that is returning from Inquisition.), but the ladies. I mean, for starters there's PeeBee the Shreksari, Cora seems like they went backwards with how uncanny Miranda looked, And Vetra who's a Turian. (No offense to Garrus fans out there, but you and I both know his mug ain't the reason he's got fangirls.)

I'm just wondering where it all went wrong. ME1 didn't have faces NEARLY this bad. Heck, even Miranda didn't trigger the Uncanny Valley this badly for me!

I blame Frostbite, for all its strengths unless the characters are super-well designed they look like butts. And character designed ones look even worse. You can mod DA:I to get some amazing faces on the ladies but again, mods.

Honestly, eh, it feels kinda immature. I like to think people weren't buying Mass Effect because "IT'S GOT PORN IN IT" and, in some ways, it really kinda proves a lot of the stupid articles years back right in saying that the game "Focused" on that sorta thing.

Not that I don't think it should be an element, admittedly, a kinda cringe worthy element, but, I don't think it needs shouting about.

I have no issue with this. The only thing I have an issue with is when some people are pretending that certain other games are somehow "less than" because of similar traits, be it in that they're not specifically softcore "space" porn or Japan-made or what have you. In the end a good game is a good game and a game containing sexual content of whatever type can also be good.


Too often I find that a lot of games get judged as though their variety of "softcore porn" is the only reason why anyone would play them while other games get a free pass when they are actually much more fitting of that title.

Witcher 3 got an R18 rating here in Australia (still not used to my country having this classification), but I will be surprised if ME:A is only MA15.
