It's The Citadel, I believe.
But shouldn't the Citadel be within the nebula? (If the Citadel did in fact move in ME, please use spoilers, as I haven't finished the game yet. thank you.)

I liked the combat. The fact I could easily kill everything with 1-3 hit on the hardest setting made me think of Shepard as a super badass.

Oh, and that pic is my new background.

I really like the sound of revamping the exploration, and making the unexplored planets really feel like part of the story. Mass Effect really disappointed me in how so many of the side quests and their accompanying planets felt half-assed and unoriginal. They were little more than MMO quests, in their simplistic 'kill these guys' nature and in the very repetitive atmospheres (all of those pirate/military/religious bases/warehouses/facilities in ME looked exactly the same...). The repetition is understandable in a massive MMO, but it is kind of pathetic for a game that was, otherwise, as amazing as Mass Effect.

That doesn't look like the citadel to me. Don't worry, no spoilers there.

Maybe it's Arcturus Station. It looks like there are what I'm guessing are Alliance ships around it. In any case I'm looking foreword to the sequel. I love random exploring, and anything to improve that aspect of the game sounds great.

An Alliance base, perhaps?

I think you might have something there, Jim.

as long as the inventory system is fixed (so I don't have to delete almost all of my weapons and upgrades and armor every hour) and the exploratory aspects are tightened up (so not all the uncharted worlds are so barren and lifeless. A few colonies wouldn't hurt).

Also, I'd like to visit 22nd century Earth.
Haha, oh this sums up my feelings exactly. I remember when I accidentally gel'd a particularly useful ammo round, it was great against the Geth...

That, and what scifidownbeat said, why can't we visit Earth? I mean, we got to parade about the moon (which was grand), but we couldn't go near Earth?

Can't wait for that... and that thing in the picture! It looks SO COOL! I'm going to guess it's on the Citadel's side... it looks more like their tech than it does the Geth's. But I wonder if it's a space station or some new battleship... and I also wonder if those missiles are even going to dent it :p

Mass Effect was my second favorite game of all time. If they just improve the exploration, I'll be happy. I thought that the combat was just fine the first time around, but if they can improve it, ME2 will be truely epic.

BioWare have recently told GTTV that, although it isn't in Mass Effect 2, they want to include space combat in the trilogy. Well, that means that there will be a Mass Effect 3, and there will probably be space combat in it - which reminds me of KOTOR.

I hope it's not like Kotor's "space combat"

Bioware discusses save game importing finally and countinues to cocktease about Shepard. Towards the end, use the slider.

nothing like nice click, bang, boom fun combined into the usual FPS/RPG subgenre. Maybe ME2 wont feel at awkward.

Oooh, I am looking forward to this. I'm always in a lucky position, in that I start playing something (in this case, I started playing Mass Effect in January) just before the sequel is announced.

I'd like to think it was a pic of the Migrant Fleet (though I always think that anyway :p), but it does look more like an Alliance station of sorts. It would be good if the planet it's orbiting just happened to be Earth though.

Beside from abnormally slow elevators and limited inventory, I was quite pleased with Mass Effect. I wouldn't change the gameplay at all, be it dialogue or action sequences. Am I the only one who thinks that the sniper was more trouble than it's worth? I used pistol almost all the time, and I didn't have any problem annihilating everything on my path. What I would really like to do is to visit Earth, and do more on on land-able planets beside driving for a half an hour and collecting minerals(or whatever). Also what's with the Renegade and Paragon achievements? Leaning to the light/dark side should really influence the game, like in KotOR, where you get stuff like force choke and force crush, which you can use to improve your gameplay, not just for bragging/self-satisfaction.

As long as they don't ditch the awesome dialogue system they can make the combat as "actiony" as they want.
I agree, I loved the dialogue.

I don't think shooter RPGs really work. In both ME and FO3, the actual gunplay felt less polished while the RPG elements lack depth, which was sacraficed for that needless dialouge system. In ME, the only stats to really care about was your weapon choice, your armor choice, accuracy, and health. I hated the ability system. Nothing breaks the flow of a shooter game like pausing mid fight to select an ability. So I ignore those stats. I also don't understand why accuracy is a stat. Aiming is something a player actively does, not a stat like health. What Bioware needs to do is tighten up the gunplay while adding more stats and numbers to add RPG depth, and make insane mode fair and no enemies that have invincibily abilities.
For the "aiming as a stat", I agree. That's why I'm so looking forward to Alpha Protocol; They've said that, from the get-go, you are as accurate as you ever will be with each gun. Leveling up with each gun just increases accuracy, increases damage, decrease recoil, etc.
