so, this is another March Mayhem thread, and i say BioWare needs to win because when they promise a sequal, they don't take 15 years to START making the sequal..i'm looking at you Valve..yes that number is an exaggeration, just so you'll get my point. TF2 took Valve 12 years. and it's only number 2. 2!!! Portal 2 is well on it's way, and L4D and L4D2 came out pretty quick, but the reason everybody likes them..is Half-Life. Half-Life 2 Ep. 3, for those of you that don't know was announced shortly AFTER Robert Culp died. so if people thought Dr. Breen was going to be our main antagonist for this game, you're going to be dissapointed.

my point is, Valve sucks with timing and actually following up on their promises to the public, whereas BioWare, has always been strict about their promises to the public. "Mass Effect was always a planned Trilogy" they are currently working on number 3 "be looking for another KoToR game" they are making the MMORPG version of it. "MDK 2 will end the series" low and behold, it did. "We WANT to make Jade Empire 2 but don't have time in the current" well that's very true, bewteen the 2 Canadian versions making ME3 for us, the Texas one is working on KoToR's MMORPG, they are booked solid.

in short, BioWare never lied to their public fanbase knowingly. if they did, EA was behind it. Valve made promises of Ep.3 to release AGES ago and now that nobody really cares, they STARTED to make it. they haven't BEEN making it, they STARTED it.

this is why BioWare should win the March Mayhem. Valve needs to suck it and get with the friggen program.

btw, I am in no way shape or form anti-Valve, it's just BioWare is majorly the superior developer, and people fail to realize that. the reason i think they might lose, is because people here are PC gamers primarily, and Valve is very PC friendly, whereas because of EA BioWare isn't..it isn't their fault people. it's EA's.

I never played a Halflife game and don't plan to play it anytime soon, and i still enjoyed Left4dead and Portal.

I enjoyed Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2, but Mass Effect and ME2 were some of the best games I have ever played. Never played anything else by Valve, and I don't plan on starting annytime soon.

Bio will probably get the win, when it comes down to it they have produced more titles than Valve and put out more games than Valve too.

Dr. Breen died a nice horrific death imo and would plain cheese to the story if he'd "survived"

Anyway, giving Valve Steam is silly, they sell other peoples' games on it too and every company can put up patches for their gamee that it will install for you before you can play your game.

Some people actually didn't like some of their updates for Team Fortress2.

Well, I voted for VALVe but I won't be angry if Bioware win, because I fell in love with Mass Effect 2. Still - I have been playing TF2 for a lot of time now (year and a half) and I'm still having great fun with it... so... ja... go valve

It's not false. Just wishful thinking. They did it once when Freeman won "best character", why not now? If they don't, oh well, nothing is lost, they didn't promise anything and to be honest they probably don't even know the contest is still running.

I agree with the OP to a point, in that while Valve is awesome, there are too many fanboys swinging from Gabe Newell's udders. But they definitely aren't Blizzard, in that they have yet to piss on a beloved franchise. Warcraft 3, in case you're wondering. Starcraft 2 had better be pure awesome sauce to make up for that turd.

And you never actually see Breen die. If you don't see the villain's body, you can't confirm the kill. My guess is that he's playing chess against Andrew Ryan in a pocket dimension...while the Illusive Man and G-Man place wagers on the outcome.

So let me get this straight, you don't like them because they take the time to perfect their games before releasing them? Rather than rushing them out to the public. I'm not saying Bioware do this but you can't fault a developer for just wanting to release finished games no matter how long it takes. A perfect game that you need to wait 10 years for is going to be a hell of a lot better that a poorly done game rushed out in 2 years. So i'm sorry, but I can't say I agree with any of your OP.

If you don't enjoy Half-Life 2 at all you can pass on the episodes, though I personally think they are far superior to the main game. Just don't expect anything completely new, they are still add-ons.
