But they definitely aren't Blizzard, in that they have yet to piss on a beloved franchise. Warcraft 3, in case you're wondering. Starcraft 2 had better be pure awesome sauce to make up for that turd.
What exactly was wrong with Warcraft 3?
Easy. Night Elves. The humans were subpar, although tolerable enough I guess, the orcs were exactly the same as before, which I liked, and the Undead were actually pretty damn awesome. I guess I was let down after the Undead campaign, which I thought of as Zerg rushing Middle Earth. But none of it makes up for that shitty elf campaign. Half the levels you're not even fighting, you're watching more interesting factions fight. You can't even make all of their units, like they forgot to put some levels in at the end. And the end level was retarded. You don't actually fight enemies, you just have to stall one unkillable unit for 45 minutes. No. Maybe as just another mission, but you don't make that your end level. The boss shouldn't die in a damn cutscene.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from in terms of the Night Elves, although I didn't think they were that bad, but I don't think that justifies the statement that they pissed on the franchise. It's still an awesome game, to be honest it's my favourite Warcraft game.

See, I liked Warcraft 2 the best, so maybe it's just a difference of taste. If 3 didn't have the elves, maybe just more Undead missions, it would have been my favorite. I think they pissed on the series because I get the sneaking suspicion that Warcraft 3 was just a promo for WoW. The hero units and the open-ended story make me think this, but also the stylized art which isn't really needed for an RTS. Why else would you be able to zoom into a ridiculous level unless you were showcasing it as an RPG?

The only RPG i really enjoyed was the original KOTOR. the combat in that game was just so awesome. But l4d really shines for me. Story and graphics are nothing without awesome zombie slaying gameplay.

I love both developers, but I'm still giving it to Valve. Valve made Steam, as far as I'm concerned, that's good enough reason for them to win.

I agree with you, however I just don't get the Half Life series, I think I played it too late. Should I start with Episode 1 or 2? because I'm not enjoying Half Life 2 at all.
Buy The Orange Box, it has all the games in one.
I have it, what I meant was should I give up on HL2 and just play Ep1 / Ep2 or what?
If you don't enjoy Half-Life 2 at all you can pass on the episodes, though I personally think they are far superior to the main game. Just don't expect anything completely new, they are still add-ons.
I'm gonna restart Half Life 2, I remember not knowing where to go at first for an hour, which may have sucked the fun out of everything.

They both make good games, but Bioware seems more efficient in making good games regularly with lots of cool new IP's.
And then along came Mass effect II...

I honestly can't vote, and yes I know Valve are taking forever to release an episode that they said would start coming quicker because they were episodic and wouldn't take as long to creat, I get that.
I personally think that there's some severe problem they have run into that they don't want to talk about just yet. I'm sure when and if they release Episode 3, they will divulge some really honest, embarrassingly difficult reason as to why it took so long to come out.
I think we just need to wait like patient little faucets.
