Why does Bioware keep pissing all over their own work?

Bioware isn't pissing on their own work, their pissing on the fans of that work. Pissing all over customers is the "in thing" among developer/publishers. If you don't believe me, just think about drm and see if it's more effective in stopping A) piracy or B) second-hand sales.

That looks nothing like Liara. It's a detailed statue, but it's overly sexed up and just meh.

The first thing that the face reminded me of was:

I'm hoping that BioWare and Kotobukiya go back to the drawing board with this one. There's nothing wrong with the design itself per se. Sure it's cheesecake and there's almost no way we're going to see some sexed up version of Garrus or Thane or whoever to balance the scales out, but it's certainly not the first large-chested, "sexy" Asari we've seen. The problem is that this is supposed to be a specific Asari, and while it's a well made statue, it doesn't look like Liara, and more importantly, it doesn't feel like Liara.

I don't know what's more worrying here, that Bioware is actually doing this sort of thing, or that they feel so insecure about their most recent decisions that they have to keep asking fans.

Many people have said it already, this isn't Liara. Sure Asari are all sexy but that's just the way humans perceive them. Liara herself is a very professional and driven scientist and this does not portray her well. Not to mention the fact that her anatomy is completely unrealistic, the pose is all wrong and her face is just... squashed.

Do this to Miranda or some other character I don't care about but don't do this to Liara... (Or Garrus or Tali.)

Pass. As Logan said in the post, it looks like an Asari, but not Liara. Maybe Liara's kid sister, or something. I don't mind her being super curvy, that's the aesthetic of this kind of piece, but there has to be a resemblance to the actual character in order for it to work.

I pretty sure it probably look better if it had been coloured (yes I know protoype are usually grey). As for the statue itself I think they just need to redo the head and face. Yes I know the breast are big but that just typical bishoujo figures (just check out the Marvel and DC girls bishoujo line) so there's nothing they can do to change that.
