Bioware: Yes, We Are Listening.

While browsing BSN and looking for nerd rage entertainment, I found this statement by Chris Priestly.

We appreciate everyone?s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening. Active discussions about the ending are more than welcome here, and the team will be reviewing it for feedback and responding when we can. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can?t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game. In the meantime, we?d like to ask that you keep the non-spoiler areas of our forums and our social media channels spoiler free.

We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.

In the meantime, let's give appreciation to Commander Shepard. Whether you loved the ME3 ending or didn't or you just have a lot of questions, he/she has given many of us some of the best adventures we have had while playing games. What was your favorite moment?
He explains that the reason they have not responded is because they want to give more people time to play through to the end so as to not spoil people who have been avoiding the leaks and endings so far.

Now, I have no opinion on the matter, and it remains to be seen if Bioware will keep their word. However, a Q/A session with the users themselves is better for getting points across than by commenting second hand to article sources.

Thoughts? Will Bioware resolve some of their gamers' questions?

I'll say this as often as I can in as many public forums as I can: BULLSHIT. I was not born yesterday EA, you've been lying to us from day one about this series. And after repeatedly being asked to account for shipping us a half finished product you finally come at us with a wholehearted:

"Stop spreading discontent! We still have sales to make overseas! Once we've got our paycheck we'll be happy to explain exactly how little we care about your individual grievances. In the mean time, wasn't everything we did until we fucked up royal great? Wasn't it? Guys?"

Man. if only people bitched this hard about day one DLC's. We'd be getting free games by now.
And if everyone complained as much as you do we'd be getting ponies for christmas!

OT: makes sense, not everyone can get through a 40 hour game in three days, but if the answers arn't forthcoming soon I fear the world may run out of pitchfolks and torches!

lets just hope they don't let the over-zealous fanatics drive them to do something they shouldn't

We've all seen how hard you ***** about it and feel inadequate.

OT: Meh, I'm not finished ME1 yet so I'm unequipped to complain about any endings.

That better be Hyperbole, otherwise you are incredibly delusional.

It wouldn't surprise me. The Mass Effect team does have quite a robust history of listening to the fans. Some may say they listen too much.

Bioware did listen to many fan ideas and implemented them into ME3. Such as character interactions, memes of a fashion and improvements to gameplay. Maybe they are magnificent bastards, or they are just covering their skins now, who knows.

The Social Forums would be a far less terrifying place if they didn't listen to their fans.

You realize they spend their time looking at fan artwork right? (I'm serious)

Its not a bad idea but it is a bit odd....

Either one is possible. Here's how I see it: those of us with something to say can participate in the Q&A session and express our thoughts as intelligently as we're able. If Bioware genuinely want to listen and do something about, then hot damn. If not, what did I lose? Five or ten minutes of my time? Big deal.

I say let's give it a shot. At this point, we have nothing to lose.
I agree. And where or what is the Q&A about anyway? I've never heard a mention of Bioware accepting questions from fans about the endings.

So far the "we're listening" thread is at 106 pages with zero response from anyone at Bioware.

It's kind of like telling your girlfriend you're listening and then slipping out of the apartment and going to the bar.

I still wouldn't doubt it, at least not judging by their past:

Fans hated the Mako. Make was replaced.
Fans hated the first inventory system. Inventory was scrapped.
Fans wanted less dice rolls involved in shooting. So it was.
Fans wanted to date/bone Tali and Garrus. And it happened.
Fans wanted less or no planet scanning. There was less planet scanning.
Fans wanted bigger hub areas. The Citadel was greatly expanded.
Fans hated boring human male squadmate. They got a different boring human male squadmate.
Fans hated that boring human male squadmate. They got a douchey male squadmate.
Fans wanted multiplayer. Well...they got it anyway.

And there's more...but I'm getting bored. Someone else can continue if they wish.

I'm mostly following rumors of "The Truth" - it sounds to me like it fits the rumors just about perfectly: a new ending released as free DLC a month or so after release... just in time to trigger a second wave of appreciation for the game, je pense.

You really manage to get over all of these Mass Effect threads, don't you? Does it really bother you THAT much?
