Haters are instead hating on *that* PR stunt. And, to be honest, I would agree with them.psrdirector said:cool. i love gog, and the haters going to hate on it for doing what steam dont, clasic old games, none of these games ever came out on steam, and they are not drm free
I'm not saying that GOG is bad, just that Steam is better. Think of it like this: GOG to Steam is like a deli roast beef sandwich to a porterhouse steak. They both taste good and either one will make for a scrumptious snack, but one of them is just better.Arachon said:How is Steam better? With GoG you get DRM-free games, that you can play at any time you want, with steam, you have to have a client running, and at times be connected to the internet to play, thanks to their godawful "offline mode". Hell, if you want the steam parts so badly, you can just run the shortcut through steam, to get all the community bollocks.dradiscontact said:If Baldur's Gate is coming to GOG, I'm willing to bet my left nut that it won't be long before it also comes to Steam - which is hands down a better digital download service. I'll be waiting for that before I make a purchase.
That's not true. A lot of the games on GOG are also on Steam.psrdirector said:the haters going to hate on it for doing what steam dont, clasic old games, none of these games ever came out on steam
Total Annihilation isn't. In fact even Impulse got TA before GoG. Also seconding the fact that all of the games I've purchased on GoG except for one have not been on Steam. The way I see it, Steam has some retro titles but the vast majority of it is for titles of the last decade or so (X-Com being a notable exception). GoG just happens to go back further, and they fill that niche quite well.dradiscontact said:That's not true. You're right, Steam doesn't have all the games GOG does. The old games that Steam gets are mostly the biggest ones. The original Fallout games, for example. Baldur's Gate is just as popular as those are though. GOG had the Fallout games before Steam did. I'm willing to bet that Baldur's Gate will follow suit and be released on Steam sometime soon.AceDiamond said:Total Annihilation isn't. In fact even Impulse got TA before GoG. Well... I'm vegetarian, I prefer my games DRM-free.dradiscontact said:I'm not saying that GOG is bad, just that Steam is better.
