That is to assume that there are parallel universes which there is no evidence to support.Eldritch Warlord said:Indeed, a mass that gravity has compacted into what is basically a volumeless point.BaronXS said:Isn't a black hole just matter with an extremely high level of gravity?
It is possible that the extreme bending of space-time caused by black holes might create a link between parallel universes but the "hole" moniker is simply applied because things fall into it and can't get out.
That's just a myth. They're really made out of cheese. People got black holes and the moon confused. The moon is made out of spiders, but people are idiots, and got spiders confused with cheese.BaronXS said:Isn't a black hole just matter with an extremely high level of gravity?
Aside from conjecture based on mathematical formulae describing the physical nature of reality. There is some evidence actually but you would be correct in saying that parallel universes are little more than hypothesis.hypothetical fact said:That is to assume that there are parallel universes which there is no evidence to support.Eldritch Warlord said:Indeed, a mass that gravity has compacted into what is basically a volumeless point.BaronXS said:Isn't a black hole just matter with an extremely high level of gravity?

This is the correct definition.Souplex said:Black holes aren't actually holes, they are an object so massive that its weight condenses into a single point and light cannot escape it making it appear to be a black void.
Singularities? Or Black Holes?Gerazzi said:a singularity.
And Hawking said that they don't actually exist.
I say he's off his freaking rocker.
It really doesnt make a whole lot of sense does it.PurpleRain said:BaronXS said:Isn't a black hole just matter with an extremely high level of gravity?Haven't these been the most popular theory?Zenode said:I myself believe there is nothing and everything is crushed into a singularity at a certain point inside the black hole.
I doubt an dead star is an open door to the next universe. It sounds pretty illogical.
He is considered a moron by quite a few people in the scientific community, he's just popular.Gerazzi said:a singularity.

Not true. Black holes don't really work as celestial garbage disposals. Their gravity doesn't very much from our sun of an equal size. Not until you get too close anyway.Ollie596 said:I like to think of it as a giant garbage disposer taking our crap into another section of the galaxy, have that sector 7 of the milky way!
No they don't.Zenode said:Scientists have been wondering for decades what are at the end of black holes, some think that there is nothing that could exist, while others suggest that there is another universe similar to our on the other side.
...there's about as much evidence for that idea as against it; i.e. none...Zenode said:But if the universe came from a singularity doesnt this mean that quite possible at the end of Black Holes that new universes are being created?
