Aside from Windows 98, Windows XP remains the greatest MS operating system imo. There's absolutely no reason to upgrade! Yeah Windows 7 works, but it's just not the same...

So COD has reached that magical level of "so many sequels no one cares" that it's one reportable feature is the graphical quality, huh? Brilliant.

You got that right. They all look alike in the end. They're not the only war game in town.

Hehe, I remember PC gamers (....as opposed to console players...? wtf, brain?) throwing a bit of a fit when games no longer had Windows 98 support.

Windows XP was an aberration of Microsoft's OS development schedule and now that people have been using it for so long, they fight tooth and nail against upgrading it. It's time that changed and I sincerely hope more and more software drops support for XP until we finally reach its end-of-life in 2014.

You must be rich and a sucker. Every time something new comes out, you'll fall for it. XP is great. And is there a XP witch hunt going on. Why does it mattered to you what people are using. Get a life. I wonder what the overhyped "beloved" bloated Windows 7 will be doing in 12 years.

Considering the abortion of a tablet OS that is Windows 8, quite a while. I know my work isn't planning on 'upgrading' to Windows 8.

I doubt there is much demand for Black Ops in the PC sector versus the console sectors. At the same time, since it's likely to have the same, if not worse, graphics and map sizes than MW3, I don't see why they needed to change the specs, ay-oh!.

Win 7 may be expensive but Win 8 is coming out for $40 to upgrade from XP.

Boy, Microsoft is getting desperate to sell 7 and 8. They'll do anything. Just because they are afraid of XP. They would be afraid to sell XP again.

And if you want to play the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on your PC... "Windows XP is no longer supported...It requires Windows Vista or later."
And nothing of value was lost.

XP is a great system with great legacy support.

If, for some reason in the future, I should need to upgrade to 7, I'll configure a dual-boot; which is something any PC gamer worth their salt knows.

Well, the logic is understandable, given the DX division. I think everyone knew the day would come when from gaming aspects the OS would cease to be supported. So its not really surprising.

However, simple fact is even if it IS an 11 year old OS, portraying people as luddites(even if done so out of an attempt at a humorous context) for not making the switch from what is still the most popular and widely used version of a microsoft OS is fairly brash and uncalled for. The OS still has life in it, and if people do not wish to upgrade at this time, (till say 7 comes off that grotesquely overpriced barrier) they should not be made to feel guilty, when it is perfectly logical to skip this PC release in favor of console, and continue using XP to play other new and incoming games.
Im sorry if somebody else have already pointed this out but Windows 7 is the biggest OS atm

I still use XP mostly, though I have Win 7 as well. I just have a fondness for really old video games and they still seem to run more smoothly in XP. HOMM3 is one of my all-time favorite games, but in Win 7 it crashes every now and again - never in XP.

If I cared at all about Black Ops I'd be insulted.
