I find it odd that 90% of the people in this thread are plainly flaming the game and all who like it. Who's the sheep again?

While the argument cold be made that there are more "deserving" games than Black Ops to break a billion, I'm having a ton of fun with it and it would seem... umm... $1,000,000,000 divided by $60... 16,666,666.66666667 other people are enjoying it as well.

This is what happens when they raise the game price to 50 goddamn pounds! I wonder what they'll do with it... Make dlcs that cost 20-30 pounds? yep, I bet they will.

I just bought the game today... I've played COD2, COD4, COD5:WAW, COD:MW2, and now I'm playing this... But, to be fair, this is the first one I've actually paid for (Thank god there are still ways to borrow games from friends), and apart from MW2's quite... Idiotic singleplayer story, I've enjoyed the gameplay in all of them... And the multi-player in several of them.. I'll admit that it's pretty much the same game released with a new packaging, but when you load up MW1 or WAW on a LAN with some friends, it almost reaches the good old HL1 deathmatch in fun and crazyness... They've found a winning formula, I can easily understand why they're sticking to it... It might be mediocre, but it can be wildly entertaining with friends, and the single player is good for at least one playthrough per game... And if I'm entertained while playing a game, I'll say I got what I paid for.

Best Regards :)

At first I thought it had sold a billion copies.

Then I would have been really impressed.
That would be near impossible, considering for one there are only a billion people in the US and Europe combined, not to discount Canada but that bulk of people who buy this stuff is in that region, and Canada has a small population anyway. It would be amazing though.

I rented it, but I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Why give Ice Cube, the man who recorded "The Predator" for fuck's sake, another 50 cents for deciding to become the biggest sell-out imaginable and employ his oddly questioning intonation to support the very thing he used to rail against? [Rant over]

That's pretty cool...

Can you lower the DLC price now please?
Yeah seriously as a token of their appreciation they could lower the price.
That or actually make the next game on the PS3 so it doesn't look like shit compared to the 360 version.
That's not how market economy works. Because there is such high demand, the price will go even higher.

It's nice to not be a sheep. Just yesterday I got Battlefield Bad Company 2. And I expect to have lots of fun with it. And somewhere in the world Bobby Kotick just got this itch that he just can't scratch.
"Why is this man's money not automatically leaving his pocket?! Prepare the tractor beam!"
Your assimilation is futile. I have reversed the polarities on your commerce gun. Engage.

I bought it. Don't really like it, other than ZOMBIESSSSSS!

Which, if my calculations are correct, is precisely why a solid chunk of people bought it.
That's gotta be the only reason really. But I can think of much better zombie-killers to get than this waste of money.
Sorry, I got it for PC on Steam when it was on sale(Tag is in my profile). This is the first modern FPS I have played in a long time so I have to get used to the new mechanics...like the lack of a health HUD for one. Not to mention it is a hella lot more intense than older wargames. If this is a decent reflection of what our rl soldiers go through, then I am all the more bitter I was passed over.
Game On!
I'm a self-described battlefield fanboy and proud of it!

Although... I'll admit the CoD has a few....... innovations. At any rate, if you have the PS3 version and would like to play with my friends and I (we have a very small clan), message me and I'll send you my sn. If you have the 360..... I could still give you a gamertag, but I don't play online much on my 360.

Yes. I have all three consoles. And I still think the PS3's the best.

Well, sales do not necesarily mean it's a good game...

Maybe it means there are even more foolish people that actually buy it either because all your friends do it, so that you don't feel ostracized or whatever...
Or because its a damn fun game, did you ever think that?
