OT: It's all well and good spouting off stats here and there but having a product which has a fair few faults and seemingly (- I know they say they are doing something about them) not doing anything about it is a bad show indeed.

I love how the fact ticker (in Black ops) calls it "Get some sun". In all seriousness: it deserves the attention. I don't care if nobody believes me, I love Black Ops.

Wow. That's... You know, that's impressive. I doubt even the juggernaut World of Warcraft pulls in quite this much playtime.

Also a testament to just how many people bought the game. 87 minutes per day per player is a tiny amount of time for gaming, really.

Like Delusibeta says, it's probably nothing compared to WoW. I know a lot of people on my server alone who play for at least 12 hours a day every day.

I was actually thinking this might be more than what World of Warcraft pulls in overall in the same time period.

I prefer Halo: Reach. Honestly, the singleplayer's more fun and compelling. And slightly cinematic.

Black Ops just.. Ehh... the multiplayer is just broken. You can buy everything you want right from the start. Except guns. You have to unlock those before you can buy them. Oh, and we won't give you enough credits to make experimenting with different weapon loadouts to find out what's effective. Use your first ten games while you try not to die a bazillion times to get the kills you need to get a few levels, enjoy. The singleplayer doesn't really warrent a replay, either...

Jesus christ imagine what could be accomplished with all those hours!! This just gives me the feeling that we are never going to visit mars or cure cancer or even persuade people not to play a broken ass pile of re-heated mediocrity and chips.

How do they earn the money to support themselves? Or are they all teens? Or are they all in their mother's basement? I just don't get how people can play this long every day all day without doing anything else, even basic things like wash clothes, cook, wash dishes, earn some money, etc., and still go on making enough to give Activision and Blizzard and others more money.

A lot of them actually play whilst working, some work from home and others god knows.

If I was to take a guess I'd say it's probably a lot less, CoD gets a lot of players but also a lot of them are more casual then the majority of MMO players, especially the World of Warcraft lot. As sad as it may sound I've raked in over a year of game time in WoW overall though I have been playing since 2005 which works out at about 9000 hours so really that's playing for about 4 hours every day which isn't so bad once you think about it. But there's probably some people out there who play for at least 18 hours a day every day and a lot of them.

But still, wow. Those a pretty damn massive numbers for a game which seems to get a lot of complaints. Not saying that it isn't expected but those are just damn impressive.
