Ok, so I was just playing a game of Ground War TDM, and I get a Care Package. Cool, let's see what I get.
Just as it lands, I get killed as I run towards it. Fair play, if he steals it, that's my fault for getting mr arse kicked.
But no, rushing in, my teammates grab a foothold as I respawn and sprint to my prize.
It dissappears.
"A teammate has saved your care package!"
What? Fuck off they have. He's just taken a Strategic Bomber for his own use, the theiving bastard.

So here's my suggestion.
I think it's fine for the enemy team to steal your package. That's fine, you shouldn't have let it get into their hands.
But a teammate? Shit no.
Only you or the opposing team should be able to grab your package (That's what she said).
In the last game I even defended another teammate's Care Package for him while he respawned.

Anyway, another suggestion inspired by what happened next. We won quickly, myself at the top of the team leaderboard having pulled in a five-streak in the last 30 seconds, earning me a Spy Plane and Care Package.
However, I had no time to use them.

This is where my second idea comes in, that if you have killstreak rewards stored up as the game finishes, they should be transferred into points corresponding with how hard you worked to get them.
Spy Plane? 300 points. Attack Dogs? A tasty 1100.
Hardline naturally should decrease the amount correspondingly.
Hardline'd Spy Plane? 200 is yours.

As some discussion value:
What's the most powerful Care Package you've lost, and how did you lose it? As a game ended once, my Package dropped a fucking Gunship RIGHT in front of my face.
What's, in your opinion, the most underrated gun in Black Ops? FAL for me. No one uses it, and it totally rapes.

That care package idea is pretty terrible, in my opinion. That ruins people who want to play as a team and don't care if another person gets the package.
Plus, you get extra points when a teammate uses your care package, so I don't see the big deal.

If a team-mate takes your care package, it should count towards your point totals/achievement unlock thingies as well as his, because you earned it, he helped.

But I have yet to play Carl on Duty: Black Cops, I only have Mobile Welfare 2, so I can't comment on the underrated guns, but nearly every EMP I've ever had was stolen from somebody else.

I think care packadges are the worst kill streak by far! You end up getting a 5 kill streak and your super psyced to get a a care packadge, you throw the nade with great excitment and you either get crap (yay! Ammo! Rockets!) or you get something great and it gets stolen.

I never use care packadge ...

I don't know about under rated guns, I haven't played for ages.

Same here. Needed for a Pro perk isn't it?

Tbh, this got /thread'd with this post.
Just shows how amazing you truly are, Radeonx;D.

End of the day, Care Packages are cheap, espesh with hardline pro. Sure, I still use them...but it's good that a teammate got it; its a Team deathmatch, so you should only care about your team winning.

Too many people in that game care too much about their KDR and whatnot...anyone can get a high KDR, but to be a team player shows real skill.
At the end of the day, 'share packages' reward you accordingly, in my mind. But they should just be taken out of the game entirely tbh.
Mmm, your idea is okay I suppose, but it should just add on the points you'd have gotten if you actually used that killstreak (Y).

So um. Yeah.

Oh also, underrated guns.

I'll often do this. I have SAM turrets selected rather than care packages, they're much better for strategic play. I'll usually throw the grenade and run off to the objective, it it's still there when I respawn or return later on then I'll pick it up and use it. For that reason, team mates should be able to take you items. Maybe they shouldn't be able to take it when you've started, but they really should just not be dicks. Second idea is pretty good though.

OT: I never use care packages so it isn't a problem for me, if anything it'll just be a SAM turret or a Sentry Gun depending on which I've chosen.

The most underrated gun would probably be the M1911, I used to get so many kills with that before I used the CZ95 or whatever it is.

I guess, but still not nearly as many points as I could've got if I'd triggered it myself.

I guess, but that's the thing about Black Ops. It wants you to get as many points as you can, while helping your team win. It kind of can't decide whether or not it wants you to help your team, or be selfish. This might just be my interpretation of the game. I guess I was mainly annoyed at how I defended a teammate's care package earlier in the same game, yet later mine get's stolen. Or 'Shared'. See, sharing implies I'm deliberately giving it away. It's actually more like 'It getting nicked, and me not really having anything to do about it other than accept it and think angry thoughts.'

Too many people in that game care too much about their KDR and whatnot...anyone can get a high KDR, but to be a team player shows real skill.
I wouldn't say skill. More like selflessness. And I do help my team, a lot, I'm just pretty miffed at this Care Package business.

Well, I disagree entirely. I got 100 points for sharing. It was a Bomber, and on Ground War, when we had 2 Domination positions, thus essentialyl limiting their spawns, I could've got about 600 points at least. It doesn't reward you, as much as say 'Tough luck mate, here have some tiny compensation'. I mean, considering I get 100 points for killing someone, Share Package reward is nothing. Besides, it's Double XP weekend, so I get double that just for killing one guy
Mmm, your idea is okay I suppose, but it should just add on the points you'd have gotten if you actually used that killstreak (Y).
But that's my point, if you don't even have the opportunity to use it, you should get compensation for earning it at all
So um. Yeah.

No clipping for teammates, the amount of times some braindead fucktard on my team has stuck me in a doorway only to get us both killed certainly merits this change for me.

If I ever decide to use the care package, I just throw the thing outside the map.

90% of the time it's just ammo, so I basically just get free points.

Here is an idea, take away kill streaks and death streaks. They really unbalance game play and really add nothing to game play.

This is Call of Duty I'm talking about though so not like anyone will listen.

EDIT: This person has a good point ^^^

As for the use of the ammo care package, all i can say is that it can be a godsend in Hardcore and S & D. If you have a LMG or something and you are trying to provide suppressing fire then you can run out of ammo very quickly.

OT
Under used gun = FAL
Most powerful lost care package = Chopper Gunner.
