Remember back in the 90's the Fire-types starters were cool?

I GOT A FREAKING ROAST PIG XD

Glad I stopped liking Pokemon, with all this dissapointment they must start to feel like Sonic Fans.....wait..I'm a sonic fan...*Siiiiiiiiiigh*
TYPES, indicating more than one. G/S/C didn't come out until 2000ish.

Anyways, naming Oshawatt "Revolver", references and all. Also, his base stats seems to be the most promising out of the three.

But with all the pun-tastic names being suggested for pokabu, I was really hoping for something more entertaining... Tepig? Is that meant to be 'tepid pig'. 'Cos that's bollocks.
No objections to the design of these 'mons (apart from fire-pig's final form), but I dislike the names...

Doubtless 'Snivy' will be nicknamed Smugleaf by everyone? And Tepig will be either 'Teh Pig' or something along the lines of Baykon, Pignition or Emboar?
I love those last two pig names, may I use one for my starter?

Snivy, huh? For some reason, I'm thinking Dudley-Do-Right parodies will be slightly on the rise.

Though, I have no idea who'd be Dudley in that scenario, but the grass guy would definitely be called "Snively Whiplash".

Anyway, at least they're actually named in English now, rather than having just random guesses.

I dont like any of the starters really but thats okay because im in love with a puppy and an electric spider, both of which should be available pretty early on.

Smugleaf you are mine. Really upset the the fire type is the only one with multiple types after evolution.

Pignition's not my work, sadly. I did come up with Emboar, but chances are other people did too...
Feel free to use them, although I don't think you have to ask permission to borrow names for your pokémon! :p

Oshawatt = ???
For some reason I think they tried to make it sound Canadian or something... Dunno why, but it just feels like that to me.

I still like the name, though.

I agree, they also get less cool attacks, IMO. I just find them progressively less fun after crystal, I want to go back to old realms.

Snivy = Snake + Ivy
Snide + Ivy.

[snahyd] ?adjective, snid·er, snid·est.
derogatory in a nasty, insinuating manner: Gary made snide remarks about his boss as soon as the old man left the room.

Basically, it's a more clever way of saying Smugleaf.

I'm betting the terminology of Tepig will get hotter, so to speak, as it evolves.

Well we have an ivy snake, a pig that sounds like it was named by lolcats, and an otter that someone read with a speech impediment. Dear Lord.
Still getting the game though.

Snivy should work. It sounds pretentious enough, at any rate.

Just once I'd like to see a Pokemon thread where someone didn't talk about how Pokemon was better back when they were a kid.
I wish for it too....

Snivy? That sounds like a name Id give the pokemon anyway.
Im still debating between him and the water starter

Tepig? really?... I mean he's adorable and still gonna choose him but thats the best name you've got?, give him back his japanese name, much better....

Oh well, still even with that name nothing will stop me in my plan to nickname him "Spider" for a dorky joke that only 2 or 3 of my friends will actualy get, but it amuses me greatly!

Snivy all the way.
Freaking Snake Dragon evolution.

Oshawatt sounds cool, and it evolves into a freaking Shakoblad [http://spectrobes.wikia.com/wiki/Shakoblad]
