There was a time in our hardware class where we were working on our program directors computers. One of them was just a horrible heap of problems, which is what happens when you build a computer with parts that don't play nice together. The thing would freeze all the time and during our fixing our teacher told us we had to update the bios.
For those who have no idea the bios is what starts the computer and loads into your OS. If you lose your bios, well, Enjoy your new paperweight!
So when we were going to update the bios it tells you to not turn off the computer. Sadly it froze during the update causing the computer to lose it's bios. We pretty much bricked our program directors computer.
