Akai's Zanpakuto immediately reforms, but does not return from Shikai. Akai holds it at his side.
"He is a shinigami, Arrancar, and he has clearly shown that he is my enemy. For some reason, you have shown that you are not. However..." Akai passes a sharp glance to Aka, who appears to be on the verge of emotional collapse from Akai's Shikai. "I do not wish to destroy the Soul Society. I wish to purify it. I wish to return it to its original purpose - that is, aiding lost souls and protecting the masses from hollows."
Akai's gaze falls to his feet.
And there's something more I want, but...I don't know what it is. Kurosakura, perhaps you know?
"One thing I know for sure, Arrancar..." Akai's eyes turn to Aka once more. "...is that I will not stand for the pathetic, narrow-minded tendencies of those who would get in my way."
Akai holds out his left hand in front of him, seemingly in preparation for a Kido attack on Aka. He then forcibly and hesitantly returns his hand to his side.
"Shinigami, I give you mercy...for now. Do not foolishly attempt to strike me again." The Zanpakuto's black petals dissipate, returning itself, and the space around Akai, to normal. He sheathes his Zanpakuto, but keeps an eye on Aka.
