Here's my go with eyes closed:

I'm typing this with my eyes closed. I'm good at typing without looking at the screen. It comes pretty easily to me, and I would bet on zero errors - not to be arrogant.

Guess I paid attention in typing class.

Well, this is my attempt. I looked at the keyboard once to get my bearings on where the center line thingy was for my hands, but I do a fair bit of blind typing... Wait... Am I supposed to leave mistakes in? Because I didn't look when I deleted them. That works, right?

...Drat.

I usually can type blindly pretty well while correcting any mistakes that I make by remembering where my fingers have touched. This is blind typed and I don't think there are any errors in it yet (because I am not looking...).

I taught myself blind typing when I worked at Cable and Wireless (now Virgin), I had so much typing to do but with no time limit, so I just made myself learn through trial and error. I do have a bugger of a time with this laptop keyboard as the hyphen and numbers are in a different place to a normal keyboard. Interestingly, I can't remember where any of the keys are, and if I think at all about what I am doing then I completely lose it and can't figure out where the next letter is - strange huh?

That was done blind, and I managed to hit the hyphen! Yay! Guess I'm finally getting used to this bloody thing! I've typed this section with a towel over my hands, which I guess is more of touch typing, if I paid any attention to the touch marks on the keys )looking now, they are the F and J keys).

I have been doing office and temping work for eleven years now, so that's probably why I can do it so well. I haven't found any other typists who can blind/touch type but can't remember where any of the keys are. I guess it's subconscious now.

Impressive, I've always had trouble typing on laptops as well.

If you know what you're doing, it isn't really that hard. EYES CLOSED!

I actually find it a little depressing that I can type pretty much anything without looking at the keyboard...just proves how long I've spend 'honing' these skills. (Yes, that was all typed with my eyes shut).

heh. I'm a computer science major. I write for a living. The only mistakes I make are when I forget to capitalize correctly :D or when I'm in a hurry

I always blind type. In fact, I type slower while looking at the keys, and I make more mistakes.
As I always write something on my PC, be it a poem, a story, or a wordspill, I have gotten into the habit.

If you just focus on the F and J keys, blind typing isn't that hard. Just try to feel the little bumps on the keys and you'll have no trouble at all. I can even tell when i made a mistake now and correct it without looking. It's a bit weird. Typing a lot in the correct position helps significantly, I would suppose. This entire post was blind typed and has not been edited.

EDIT: I can only touchtype well on my MacBook and some PCs. I spent four years only using a PowerBook and now I can't type correctly on any desktop.

I never really watch while I;m looking at the keyboard, though it is kinda tough to do so without looking at the screen.

One error, no backspace. Not too bad!

i dunno, i still dont feel ive acheieved anything, really. it's just typing except letting your fingers remember where the buttons are. kinda like life. if your life is annoying people, or you follow the 'prostitute' career path.
