Not that I'm complaining, but if the picture is anything to go by, the worgen look more like "Were-Lions" then they do werewolves..

But like I said, I'm not complaining.

It sounds awesome that they're taking the time re-imagine the whole "you create a character and POOF! they're magically just standing near the starting zone waiting for you!" Method.

It was was getting a bit stale, I mean I know full well this new way will get old in time as well, but at least it's a temporary break from repetition.
yeah it isn't much to go by. there are other pictures of worgen that look more wolf like.

Any word on a date for release? Or when the worldchange patch comes out which will be if you get the expansion or not?
The world change patch will be for everybody, if you have the expansion or no.
Sorry that was what I meant in my statement, wasn't asking on if it was or not. My bad. But when will it happen?
It's Blizzard. "When it's done" :p
Besides the work changing the terrain for the cataclysm, they also got a lot of blank patches in Azeroth that need filling in that will be visible from the air. I'm expecting a Christmas release at the earliest. Plenty of time to spend some time with the Azeroth I know and love, and kiss it goodbye. As well as get my hunter up so he can put Deathwing back in the grave. He is gonna be so peeved over Onyxia and her brother's passing (tho apparently Ony's a tougher old bird like her old man, which I don't mind)
Wonder if the cataclysm is going to change some region levels?

Shame they have no racials.. Unlike those cheapskate goblins.
I really hate how the goblins have so many good racials. As a Worgen, I wouldn't do skinning cause it would be immoral and only a Rouge-imitate dash?
The worgen racials are so much better than the goblin ones, the goblin ones are really more of a convenience while worgen have actual combat uses.
yes but goblins have one thing which makes them awesome
midget hunters, hunters who can hide inside their own pet

I wonder what mounts they will have?

*Imagines riding a wolf AS a werewolf.
That was my second thought when I saw this the first time (the first thought was, of course, "AWESOME!!!").

Dammit, I can no longer call my self a Hordie. Or a Tauren enthusiast.

Blizzard, why must you test my loyalties so?

I suppose I'll be making a Worgen DK. It just sounds too awesome to pass up.
I know what you mean. Just as I finally think I'm fighting off my temptations to switch to Alliance, they do this. God damn them.

Damn, we get the little green men, and the alliance gets Wolfmen?

I don't even play WoW anymore.

sorry if I'm being really slow here... how exactly does the changing world accommodate people who join the altered zone a few minutes later?

Does the bit of land that sank come back or something? Again, sorry for the n00b query.

It's Phasing. Imagine that there are, say, three different copies of the zone overlaid on top of each other. If you're in one phase, you can only see other people and NPCs (and the world) that exist in your phase. When you complete the quest in question, you get shifted over into the next phase, where the land has sunk. So for you, you'll be in the phase with the new terrain and all the new quests/NPC locations, but someone who hasn't done it yet will still be in the first phase. It works remarkably well.

Wait, what would be the point? You wouldn't get to go through the whole Worgen starting area, just the DK one again...

wow! I never even considered that as a possibility in an MMOG.. heh, pretty sweet. Could it present a problem for people organizing to meet up in a certain zone though?

Er, I never said I wouldn't be making a regular worgen, too. I just want to fool around with a DK as well because a worgen with glowing blue eyes and dark armor sounds awesome. No, I already have a character mapped out for a standard worgen. Only thing I need to decide on is a class.

Anything is still subject to change; this game will take a while of course.

I wanted Ogres :(
Im still hoping for ogres someday, too, though blizzard did do a april fools joke a few years back when they said that 2-headed ogres would be a race, apparently controlled by 2 players at the same time.

Then get exploring, because its about to change. ALOT.
Yeah, we should all go back through Kalimdor and Easter Kingdoms before the change, just to soak in the nostalgia......I'm such a nerd... >.<

I gotta say, if Goblins get a discount everywhere as a racial, its not really any different to humans getting a 10% rep bonus.

I'm all for everything except the 85 level cap, its the first time I've thought 'heyy that sounds greedy'.

Yet there's no reason to feel that way, except human nature expecting patterns in numbers and expecting it to go 70,80,90,100.

I'd still be happier if they'd make it 90 tho.

5 levels just doesn't sound enough to make an expansion worthy increase in skills, talents, professions, and gear.

I hate you a little bit for that, but I'm gonna hug you for getting sick of it XD

As for the Worgen, I loved to heard a friend of mine in the 'States tell me how the Horde is bitching about the Alliance getting the awesome race for once, even after everyone and their dog has asked for Goblins as a playable race. XD

As for me, this expansion is testing my 2 year long WoW soberness.. Changing the world I grew so tired of seeing over and over (Though it was fucking awesome the first times I levelled up my old Humie Warrior), Deathwings return -and- the Worgen of Gilneas joining the Alliance, even in the -exact- way I predicted since before the Burning Crusade was released over two years ago!
