Bloodmouths and other strange insults

Man I don't know what the rest of you think but 'Carnist' sounds fucking awesome. It's like something you would call someone who has hosted the Carnage symbiote or, someone who is a big fan of Carnage in general. I haven't really heard any new slurs or, insults but bloodmouth and, whatnot just sound really weak. Like how in Middle School the term 'Bamma' (pronounced Bam-ah) was tossed around a bit in a negative way.

I don't know if anyone has googled the term "bloodmouth" recently, but it is apparently a new term militant vegans (not all vegans, mind, just the more angry ones) use to call meat eaters. This term is used along with "bloodwhore" and "carnist". My reaction to this is, well, pretty much the opposite of what I think they intended. By that I mean I think its pretty much the most metal name I can possibly be called, so i'm embracing the term. I love it. I am bloodmouth! Hear me roar!

Kind of relevant: At work we call people who are incompetent (or currently acting in an incompetent way) "cranks". We even have a "Crank of the Week" on my team's white-board (which is usually an employee of one of our clients). Not sure how widespread that is; I'd never come across it before working here.

Other slang that seems to be specific to my workplace includes "FRV" ("First Rule Violation", meaning a huge f*ck-up), "fonx" (meaning to get rid of something) and "mem" (meaning "I'd like some of that coffee you just made").

Sentences like this really confused me when I first joined: "Better fonx that component unless you're sure you won't crank it up; it's got a history of causing FRVs. Grab a dev if you need help braining it."

Do you work with a bunch of MIT graduates or something? Because that's MIT levels of bizarre slang XD

By the way, using "crank" in that sense sounds kind of unique; usually if you call someone a crank, it means they're crazy, generally in the paranoid conspiracy theorist sense.

The company was founded by a group of guys who met at Cambridge Uni, and we still have far more Cambridge grads than we have grads from any other university. (I went to Southampton, making me a bit of a pleb in comparison!) So yes, that may well be the source of it all!

Not heard "crank" in that sense before. Maybe it's an American thing.

Years ago I got banned from BF2142 for using mods in my game. I fucking wasn't I was just really good. I wouldn't even have had a clue how to mod the damn game. Fucking hackers ruining things for everyone...

I feel like bloodmouth would make an appropriate death metal band name. Maybe add another word in. Bloodmouth Thundersmasher or something equally cheesy.

Y'know... thinking about it, I think one of the most ridiculous insults I know has got to be "glasögonorm" (similar to four-eyes; a derogatory term for people who wear glasses; from glasögon = glasses and orm = snake), because "glasögonorm" is also the Swedish name for the Indian (or spectacled) Cobra. Oh wow... I've had glasses since I was seven and it's taken me sixteen years to realize what an absolutely nonsensical insult that is.

Yeah, I was involved in a gig a few years back at a local music festival, and at the end of the night when we were striking the equipment, a group of local chavs were hanging around, and one of them called me four-eyes.

I'll admit, I was actually somewhat insulted. Purely because out of all the insults that have been hurled at me throughout the years (oh how joyful school was when everyone kept calling me a homo), this was by far the least original or even insulting. I'd have been less insulted in he'd called me a ****.

He shall roam the land buying and stealing cattle from villages, amassing a herd of cows so large that even Sea Raiders will flee on hearing the thunderous hoof beats.

Then when the herd is large enough, he shall drive them to the outskirts of a city and slaughter every single one, flooding the markets with cheap beef and leaving the excess to rot under the Calradian sun.

I'm not sure if being a roaming Beef Baron is economically viable, so he will also specialise in attacking mounted parties and slaughtering their horses with lance and axe, just to live up to his name.
