Anyone have that Facepalm picture of Picard made up of other facepalms?

You mean this one?
Oh, I see it now. I thought it was a big 'ole dong for a while there.

ANYWAY, Brutal Legend is one of my favorite games. Hilarious, fun, and amazing soundtrack. Kotick, your PR is making me hate you more.

You know who probably dislikes Kotick the most? The Activision PR department.
I imagine they start drinking at 10 AM and just don't stop.

But seriously, though? Kotick is a businessman. He's a good businessman, too. He's just really bad at self-censoring.
A good business man wouldn't be driving the public image of his company into the ground.

I would bet that the Activision HR department talks about how much of a soulless, ophidian prick he is.

When Kotick isn't eating Beluga baby sandwiches or sculpting his money-wife, does he set out on his lifelong mission to be perceived as the quintessential douche?!? He undermines every statement he makes with his vitriolic banter while coming off as an immature man-child who lacks the self-control to be in a representative position of any sort.

I like Kotick. Not meaning I like him personally or what he says, but as a stockholder I appreciate the money he makes me. To be honest, I liked Brutal Legend, but at the same time I'm glad they dropped it since it would never had made back the costs of producing it which would've hurt me financially.

Then we always here the people say they hate Kotick and Activision because they never take chances and go with the safe games. There are plenty of companies out there doing different games, doing arty games, doing innovative games, etc. If every company were to specialize in those, then gaming would die since nobody would be able to find the safe, normal games that they enjoy. Newcomers already think using any current control method (other than the Wii) is too dificult and the games themselves are too complex, so having Activision making games that anyone can play like Spider-Man, COD or the Hero games brings people into games and lets them buid up their confidence to try Valve or Bioware games.

Fighting a reputation for being a nob, by being a nob. Nothing atypical about such a move, coming from Kotick.

Perhaps next, he'll try putting out a fire by spraying aerosol on it.

Well he's got to be really good at running a company if the Board of Directors haven't spoken of outing him yet, at this point they'd be the only people capable of making him dissapeer. Before I came here and saw all the news about Kotick I used to see Activision as a wonderful company, and it is, but Kotick just has a problem.

If he was just a little more capable of holding his tongue and not jump on every other human being apparent faults, he would be fine.

The more I hear about Kotick, the more he reminds me of Troy Duffy. Remember Troy Duffy and the documentary "Overnight"? I seriously think you could make a sequel to that movie and put Kotick in it, change a few names around in the original script, and you're good to go.
Seems like the same guy at work who takes credit for everyone else's accomplishments, and then talks shit about the competition and coworkers. What a class act that guy is.

Maybe he's abandoning ship. I mean obviously this could only be designed to annoy gamers furtehr so either he's just doing it for giggles or he reckons the increased notoriety will serve him well.

My sarcasm detector is going off. (Seriously: Call of Duty, easy to play? Sure, it's Bog Standard FPS, but I wouldn't pick it as my first game. I would pick a Mario game or something.)

I know the guy feels he's Teflon and he has the confidence that comes along with that. You would think as a publicly traded company the board or shareholders would have muzzled this guy a long time ago.

the game was not a particularly good game...
Exhibit A [http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/brutal-legend] and Exhibit B [http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock]. I rest my case.
Darn, you beat me to it my friend!

Brutal Legend might not be Kotick's cup of tea, but that doesn't give him the right to decry it as a Bad Game... that right is reserved for Yahtzee.

After all, I would rather staple my ears to a horse than play World of Warcraft, but I can still see how amazingly awesome it looks. (Even if it is a total money drain)

Erm... what an asshat.

Especially over Brutal Legend, that game WAS a particularly good game which I enjoyed immensely. For me it was the second best game that year, just behind Arkham Asylum, and brimmed with creativity and passion for videogames.

Kotick is just a Fatcat who is out for easy money rather than helping the industry develop new and exciting types of games.

Seems someone's getting arrogant because they have Bungie under there belt, and Blizzard. Both he has very VERY little to do with. And like someone said earlier in the thread, I'm pretty sure Activision's PR department wish they were working for someone else.
