Bollywood Halo Movie Wins April Fools 2010?

I just trolled a few of my friends with this video. The best part was when one started choking because they were laugh so hard.

I like Bollywood... and this is so Bollywood it's ridiculous. If they actually made a Halo movie like this... definitely more popular than the Avatar movie, methinks.

(I'm kidding... yes, the Avatar bit is a joke.)

I seriously just thought that this was an actual fake trailer for Halo. I thought it would be mor elike the actual story like the Zelda one they made.

But thankfully it was way more awesome. Lol "I NEED A VEAPON!". Totally hilarious trailer.

Bollywood Halo Movie Wins April Fools 2010?

Despite facing stiff competition from Blizzard, Google, and (ironically) Bungie, I have to give the nod for Best April Fools' 2010 to IGN, for its movie trailer showing Master Chief - as you've never seen him before.


Last year, I called April Fools Deckard Cain GPS [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/90633-Blizzard-Wins-April-Fools] (among others) but... sorry, Blizzard. I can't go with you this year.


The reason I can't go with Big Blizz this year is because of the video you see here above. This was IGN's entry into the mix [http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/40236/halo/videos/halomovie_trl_040110.html], and while the media giant is no stranger to doing fake videogame movie trailers (see also: Zelda from a few years back) the fact that they opted to go for a completely different take on Halo here is enough to push it over the top.

It's not enough that it's just "Bollywood Halo," it's that they nailed the stereotypical feel of a Bollywood movie so perfectly that really sells it. Maybe it's just the moment where the Master Chief just looks at the camera and flashes a grin while the screen shows his designation "John-117," because that made me crack up.

Is it just me? Am I the only one who finds the idea of Halo-as-Bollywood-action-romance as hilarious as I do?

This was frickin epic.. and sadly, also believable after seeing the bollywood version of superman and spiderwoman XD (Youtube Indian Superman if you do not believe me)

Though I think what is better, is someone made all this big news about the release of the Duke Nukem Forever demo finally being released on filefront.. and upon running the demo, you got rickrolled

Lastly, Bungie can bite me for destroying the Fan Movie Project (That had actually looked pretty epic) which goes to prove that WHEN they do make a movie, it is going to suck since a fan movie they feel threatens THEIR movie.

lol thats hilarious. If you guys wanna watch a good Bollywood movie watch "Lagaan" rated 97% on rotten tomatoes by Western critics. Truly is a masterpiece. Nominated for best foreign film at Oscars but they gave to some French movie

I'll be darned, IGN did something to amuse me rather than add to my list of complaints about them, congratulations to them.

I'm suddenly motivated to make a Halo Mod. Yes, based at least partially on this. Though the troubles in acquisition of the necessary hardware and software to do so may be the saving grace for us all.

The Bollywood thing was great, but the Halo reach thing just killed me XD
