right now, i'm going back and forth between my russian grammar book and the second book in the Dexter series. before that, i read the first Dexter book and re-read water for elephants and fight club. good stuff all around.
i've been reading a lot more since i bought a kindle. totally worth the money, by the way.

I recently finished Sourcery by Terry Pratchett. I don't really find the stories in these early Discworld novels (I've read the ones up to Sourcery, in order of when they were published) to be that extremely exciting. I do enjoy reading about the Discworld itself, the interesting world Pratchett has created.
They get much better later, though his recent works... I fear his ghost writer has more of a hand in them than usual. Understandable given Pratchett's ongoing health issues but still, they feel off somehow. Not worse, but different.

at the moment:

Dracula
the adventures of Sherlock Holmes
a feast for crows (i don't think it's as good as the others but i'm only half way through so far)
the third hithchikers guide to the galaxy book
various boring anatomy text books (although it's not like i'm going cover to cover)
the Iliad
Frankenstein

i'm about halfway through most of them. although i've just stared the Iliad.

oh and if anyone knows of a good read i'm always open to suggestion.

do comic books count?

because I randomly discovered this series called "Transmetropolitan" and holy shit its friggen awsome so far (havnt read much)
I don't see why the hell not. I've heard some good things about that series but I've never actually got around to buying it.

OT: The Thran by Robert King, and so far I'm liking it. How I never discovered MTG books until now is beyond me since I used play it all the time.

Hi there Escapist, what are you reading today? You know, books? They are made of paper and can be used to craft book shelves in Minecraft can be used for entertainment?

I kid but what is the last book you've seriously read or are in the process of reading.

I'm reading "Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar". Very interesting reading about what new archives that have been released revealed about the man. All of that political intrigue... Really fascinating.

Well then, your turn.
This is a bit of a list, so bear with me.

I am currently reading:
Full Moon (Dresden Files)
A Storm of Swords (Song of Ice and Fire)
Grimm's Fairy Tales
The Bride Wore Black Leather (Nightside)
Return of the King
A textbook about the Haskell programming language
Internet resources regarding Javascript and the Titanium Studio smartphone IDE
And a couple dozen fanfics based on a variety of sources

Somehow, I'm able to keep track of all of these and read them in parallel. Not quite sure how that works, but it does.

I picked up this week "The Wild Duck" and "Ghosts" by Ibsen since my theater group is looking for new plays to stage.
I'm reading "An Actor's Work" by Konstatin Stanislavski too, since my original copy is a bit outdated and is lacking "Building a Character".

Currently I am reading an older book called "Cat on the Edge" that I found used, "Do The Work!" by Steven Pressfield (which I recommend to everyone at least once), and I more recently picked up a manga called "Monster Hunter Orage". The manga caught my attention because it is based off of the Monster Hunter franchise. Has monsters! And hunting thereof! I'm not completely interested in the characters yet, but it's spiffy enough that I may pick up the second book if I see it.

Oh sure, ruin the ending for me right when I have the last book right...

Wait a second... That's right! I already assumed that the ending was going to suck simply based on how absolutely terrible Brisingr ended... By the gods, why did I put down money on the fourth book? Curse you, green dragon!!!

Three at the moment: Pies and Predjudice, Stuart Maconie's take on the UK north/south divide, All Hell Let Loose, Max Hasting's study of WW2, and I'm also re-reading (for the umpteenth time) A Game Of Thrones by George R R Martin since A Dance of Dragons is released in paperback in April - I love the series but have gotten sick to death or recapping previous books since the 90's. I must have re-read A Song of Ice and Fire fifteen+ times thanks to the number of false restarts we've had to suffer over the decades.

I'm in the process of reading House of Leaves.. well more like studying. Its truly an amazing book.
House of Leaves IS awesome, I would love to get the full colour edition.

I don't think I ever finished all the letters at the end so I have a good excuse to go back and reread the whole thing =)

Thats the one I got for about $20 and its pretty awesome. I have to keep restarting cause sometimes I get busy and forget where I left off. I think i read the first 100pgs 12 times lol Try to get through it once so I can go back and take notes... you know all the fun stuff that makes this book amazing ^_^

I'm reading Dracula.

It's not as good as I'd hoped, I don't particularly like the way it's displayed, but it's worth reading because it's a classic.

I just finished American Gods by Niel Gaiman. Interestingly, what got me curious about this book was the following video (which I am showing because I just figured out how to embed videos and I wanna show off):

I haven't, actually; I tend to stick with Discworld exclusively. I don't know why since his collaboration with Neil Gaiman, Good Omens, is one of my favourite books and I have a copy signed by them both (Pratchett doesn't like this book apparently, and they've both signed the siggestion that I should burn it!).

Guess I just like the world he's built and hope that somebody continues it.
