Currently wrapping up The Fires of Heaven, the fifth book of the Wheel of Time series.

I also read a bit of Terry Pratchett's Snuff already, but I'm saving the most of it for when I finish The Fires of Heaven. After two-thirds of a year of reading Wheel of Time exclusively (well, and comics) it's time for a bit of a break.

You're the first I encounted that's also reading it. So what do you think of it so far?
Woot another WoT fan. Currently finishing up on The Gathering Storm, book number 12 in The Wheel of Time series, then I will be moving on to The Way of Kings when I get the time.

Hi there Escapist, what are you reading today? You know, books? They are made of paper and can be used to craft book shelves in Minecraft can be used for entertainment?

I kid but what is the last book you've seriously read or are in the process of reading.

I'm reading "Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar". Very interesting reading about what new archives that have been released revealed about the man. All of that political intrigue... Really fascinating.

Well then, your turn.
I saw a bookstore with lots of books about the soviet-union but I didn't want to buy them.. parents aren't so fond of it I think.

I read The Hobbit and Calvin & Hobbes "It's a magical world". One from the public library, the latter bought in a bookstore. Now I have "Eldest" from the Eragon quadrilogy on my list. I was fairly pissed it wasn't available in hard-cover anymore, but sigh. An other book I read lately was "First they killed my father", a rather shocking book about a small girl who survives the terror of the Red Khmer in Cambodia, around 1975.

I'm excluding my schoolbooks as they're not really.. entertainment.

I'm still currently reading the "A Song Of Ice and Fire" book series which i've been reading since... November I think. At the moment I am reading and am about 3/4 way through A Feast For Crows and then I will immediately begin reading A Dance With Dragons since I already bought it... after that I will have to wait for the others to be released. I gotta say though, this is probably one of the best, if not THE best book series i've ever read.

Until then, once I finish that series so far I will begin reading Eldritch Tales: A Miccelany of the Macabre which is the second collection of H.P. Lovecraft's stories. After that, i'l probably read A Scanner Darkly and then find some other books.

Goliath. Third book in the series 'Leviathan'. It gives me a raging history boner -- it's WWI and steampunk. Pretty worthwhile read if you like either types, if it is a bit simplistic.

Last book I read :"Final Exit- the Practicalities of Self Deliverance and Assisted Suicide for the Dying" by Derek Humphrey

Book I'm reading right now: "Glasslands" by Karen Traviss

Next book I'm gonna read: the entire Soul Eater Manga...

...if I'd suggest a book it would either be "Final Exit" or the Night Angel series by Brent Weeks... Night Angel fuckin rocked!!!

American Gods by Neil Gaiman was the last book I read. It's pretty good, all about various gods from around the world trying to survive in modern America, and competing with the 'new' gods of technology, media, etc. I intend to hit the bookstore later in the week though, as books are my primary method of delaying my inevitable shooting spree.
American Gods is one of my favorite books. If you haven't read it yet, pick up Neverwhere by Gaiman.

I'm about halfway through George R.R Martin's A Feast for Crows at the moment. Not liking it as much as the previous books in the series, but we'll see what happens.

My god.... You have the same favourite book as me and you are reading the same book as me..... I... Well I'm kind of scared now :/

On another note, have you read Good Omens? It's joint top for me with AG.

Just finished reading the Mass Effect trilogy (Revelation, Ascension & Retribution, great books get them if you're a Mass Effect fan). Now I'm going to go through the unread books of my Raymond E. Feist collection! First up the Serpentwar Saga.

Book I'm reading now: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Book I'm reading next: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This book is absolutely amazing. It deserves at least 5 consecutive read-throughs.

Finished Concrete Island by J.G Ballard a few days ago, really enjoyed it and got straight into Metropole by Ferenc Karinthy. It's different and I'm interested to see where the story goes.

Well, I just finished Hyperspace by Michio Kaku, Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, and Forever Free by Joe Haldeman. Now moving onto Snuff by Terry Pratchett and Foundation by Isaac Asimov.

Yeah, I've been reading a lot more since my netbook's power socket decided to commit seppuku.

Yes I have! I love it. I keep trying to imagine which parts are Pratchett's ideas and which are Gaiman's :p

I recently finished "Strangers in Paradise" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strangers_in_Paradise] by Terry Moore. Very well done and a great read. I was hooked :)

[sub]Yeah, its a graphic novel.[/sub]

Uh... Yahtzee's Mogworld yesterday during a power-outage.

It's not bad, but the prologue is confusing.
