I'm currently reading the Stand by Stephen King, but I'm within 100 pages of finishing it so it's becoming time to choose what to read next.

Contenders:

Different Seasons by Stephen King - The book that contains the Shawshank Redemption (which was made into one of my favourite films).
The Bachmann Books by Stephen King - The book that contains The Running Man (which was made into one of the most awesome films ever)
I, Robot by Isaac Asimov - which was made into one of the most awesome shoe commercials ever.
In the Name of the Wind by I. Forget - A book which I know nothing about but was bought for me for Christmas (along with the Stephen King books).

Just finished reading Magician by Raymond E. Feist. I think it's awesome.

As soon as I can borrow it from my friend, I'll get started on Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves, by Matthew Reilly. I freakin' love Matthew Reilly books, and I've read all of the Scarecrow books so far, so I can't wait.

Finally got round to reading Dances with Dragons, thought about taking it slow so that it lasts me until Mr Martin releases the next book, but i'm already a third of the way through after 2 days.

I plan on starting the 'flashman' series after that iks done, as well as reading some books that I really should get around to reading to do with my degree.

I am currently attempting to acquire every discworld novel, and have both GUARDS! GUARDS! and on my plate, as well a few Sandman trade paperbacks and A Dance WIth Dragons, which I can't believe I still haven't finished.

Oh, and I just checked Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman out. God, I need help.

And like any other book by Terry Pratchett, it´s awesome.

Just a shame that soon, he won't be writing them anymore. :'(

OT: Currently reading The Neutronian Alchemist by Peter F. Hamilton. I absolutely love the Night's Dawn trilogy.

Civilization: The West and the Rest by Niall Ferguson. I's studying Medieval History at university, so this is a great bridge for me that explains how the last 500 years got us from there to here. Seriously, if you have any interest in history, or why the American Empire is dying and the Chinese, Indian and Brazilian ones are rising (those who forget their past etc.), READ IT!

American Gods by Neil Gaiman was the last book I read. It's pretty good, all about various gods from around the world trying to survive in modern America, and competing with the 'new' gods of technology, media, etc. I intend to hit the bookstore later in the week though, as books are my primary method of delaying my inevitable shooting spree.

To stave off the massacre, may I recommend Neverwhere by Gaiman? It's really good, and continues his blending of fantasy worlds with the modern one. Or if you have siblings, Anansi Boys may be more interesting (it's a spiritual successor to American Gods , set in the same world but with new characters.

The last book I read was Homeland by R.A. Salvatore. I hated it. I've never read a bigger Canon Sue in my life.

The book I'm currently reading is The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. At the risk of getting flamed, I'm gonna go ahead and say I'm really disliking it as well. I'm not really enjoying any of the characters (with the exception of Thom, and his part in the book is over.)

right now, i'm going back and forth between my russian grammar book and the second book in the Dexter series. before that, i read the first Dexter book and re-read water for elephants and fight club. good stuff all around.
i've been reading a lot more since i bought a kindle. totally worth the money, by the way.
