I'll probably play Maya up until the new character is released, at which point I will drop her like an unwanted baby* for the Mechromancer.

*Fiad does not endorse the dropping of babies, wanted or otherwise.

The new berserker dissapoints me with the emphasis on weapons. I may play as the assassin for my close range kill love but really, all that I know about them is from the trailers.

I was worried about the complete lack of love for axton. Until right near the end of the page anyways, I haven't seen his skill tree but he gets TWO turrets and hopefully he gets the medic skill tree so I can shoot you with bullets that magically heal you. It's like being a super awesome badass cleric. Screw the stupidly super overpowered sirens (I'm looking at you lilith) and just be a semi-normal not super overpowered guy like Axton :D

I'm gonna play em all and max em all out. I still play Borderlands GOTY edition, and yes the story fell flat at the end, but it was the minor story arcs that made me smile, or Scooter talking about how he was gonna kill the guy who 'Wrecked his momma's girl parts' or T.K Baha's arc, his was actually the one i felt an emotional pang for. CL4P-TP and his revolution, the Island of Dr. Ned, who is CLEARLY not Dr. Zed from the first part. I love the humor and how much fun it is to open every chest, shoot every skag and bandit in an area and hope for a legendary or a unique gun. Its the thrill of the hunt for me

CAPTCHA: Happy Trails. Indeed they are ^.^

I'm not really that into Maya's Siren/support style (I like to go solo)

Zero wins in the coolness contest and will be used, eventually.

Axton reminds me of an Imperial Guardmen, a basic trooper compared to the likes of Zero but backed up by Heavy ordnance.

Salvador.
Dual wielding MG's.
DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA...

Ahem, I'm trying him out first.

Only played the... whatever the fella is, the sniper one, in the original.
So I'll choose Zer0 in Borderlands 2, because look at that sweet hat!

And then the Mechromancer.

Sadly due to the timing of the release I will most likely be to busy playing the "frantically try to catch up with college homework and deal with being broke as fuck" game to even pick up borderlands 2 till a month after it comes out, and this makes me very very sad.

I was going to go with Zer0 but my friend that I will be playing with already claimed him. I hate playing the same character as someone else so I will be most likely going with Axton.

Maya looks cool, the power looks useful but I honestly just kind of like the look of Lilith better.

And come on, Axton has basically the TF2 engineer turrets now. I'll take it.

Zer0 because I almost never played anyone but Mordecai in the first game.

Don't they all play exactly the same anyway save for a few abilities. It all boils down to shooting the big weak point on the monster tit.

I'm planning to go with Maya (mostly because she's the only female character) because she looks like a mage-like class, but I've preordered to get the Mechromancer, so she might be my favourite.

I've never played Borderlands before, so I'm not really sure of any class - but I'm sure I'll have fun either way.

Siren!
Even though my soldier was more powerful, I had more fun with the siren in borderlands 1.
Sadly I haven't been able to prepurchase borderlands 2 yet :(

I always did stealth and sniping in Borderlands, so I guess Zero would be my choice.

Zer0 (I will always refer to him as such) or Axton probably, not necessarily because of their skillset, although I do like the soldier/assassin gameplay, but because they don't look as outlandish as Maya or Salvador, in my opinion. I mean, Zer0 doesn't even have a face, and I feel that is the best quality any protagonist in a game with multiple protagonist but a singular story can have.

Starting with Zero because Ive recently gotten into shanking stuff from the shadows in games (Most likely cus of fun times with the assassin in MNC), will likely stick w ith him for a full playthrough and then give axton a spin, as I do love dem turrets, followed by salvador cus dual wielding midget meh.

Siren will likely gather dust, though I don't know a great deal about her talent trees and abilities so I could be pleasantly suprised.

This is all a moot point once the mechromancer comes out of course. No going back after that.

Sounds like you never used Radiance and Phoenix. You're right about the Phasewalk being an "oh shit" button, but it was a lot more than that. There were boss fights where I didn't even need to shoot anything.
Eh, with the 69 eventual skill points you can get you tend to try everything. There's a point where you pick up the not-so-great skills just because there's nothing else to get. So yeah I tried Radiance; it's not that impressive. You do more damage just by shooting stuff. Even with the AoE side of it, there's no way you'll out damage a Combustion Hellfire, Pestilent Defiler or plain Double Anarchy. If using it is going to be lowering your overall damage output, then you might as well be saving it for that oh-shit button. Phoenix is a bit better but... that's not a Phasewalk skill.

Inner Glow was the really OP bit. That and the base nature of Phasewalk. You regen health while remaining completely invulnerable (and having chance to reposition to your advantage, even starting the fight again without aggro) and by the time you reappear you'll have given your shields enough time to regen too.

Axton, Roland was right up my alley in B1, beeing support and all.
I'm not the most awesome FPS player, that's why i liked Borderlands,
it was more than just "point and shoot military super soldier'ism" like most FPS's.
Stylish too.

But i might switch to the Siren, if one of my mates wants the Soldier class.
