Ok, if the game is as humorous as the trailer was its definitely a worthwhile buy lol. Punch a midget's leg off and skills for the payment of bills!!!

Also, how good will it run on a PC that can run, oh I don't know, Fallout 3 on High? Cause system requirement charts sometimes are too generalized to get a good feel for how it will run.
It depends on what you CAN'T run on high. I don't think you will have problems running it.
The game is entertaining (only when playing online), but it's hard to get it work (for some). That's why you should look at the place called Google, where you can find information like how to run it, what kind of game it is and if it's any good.
If you like co-up fun, looting and rpg shooters, then yes, you will enjoy it.

in my game so far I have found:

Solider levels faster and regenerates ammo.
Siren kills easily with SMG and bonus elemental attacks
Hunter practically one shots everything to death. With a loot whore bird.
Berserker regenerate health when he goes nuts and tries to punch everything to death, his normal melee is far stronger than the rest.

The best character is based solely on how you play.
If you play FPS , using rifles at distance and picking their health up, try either Solider or the Hunter.
If you play getting up in the face of the target, then pick the other two. Only Siren is just quicker.

At first..... I didnt really want to buy the game. But last night, due to several friends that dont even have the game yet, I droped the cash.
From this point on I can honestly say I have no regrets about it. I can actually say, its the most fun I have had in a while. The game just felt good. I have not had the opportunity to get the multiplayer going. But I am looking forward to getting a solid group of people going.

In warning I will say that you shouldent look to this game if your buying something to replace that other game. (You know that one we are not suposed to talk about.) In that sense start playing BF2 or 2142 (Thats a real fight.)

Phase walk it one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time.
Yea I get what youre saying, they are both totally different experiences, but it was always a toss up as to which I wanted, and the format of Borderlands really appeals to me. I don't feel the need to get a certain game just cause "Everyone is gonna play it!" If Borderlands has a smaller fan base but gets the job done then that's mighty fine by me.

If you can get the multiplayer to work, then it is an awesome game. Have fun fucking around with your router settings!
Does it tell you what you have to do for it to work? Or is it a Bon Chance! figure it out yourself deal.
I have advice on the Multiplayer!

The built in multiplayer for Borderlands runs on the Gamespy network, quite possibly the worst network ever. It also requires several ports to open. The entire process breaks just short of sorcery.

There is a freeware software called GameRanger, which only requires one port be opened (and then only if you want to host) and runs much smoother than the native online Multiplayer. Basically, you launch Borderlands via GameRanger and then Host/Join the game using the LAN game option. I'd recommend doing it with a friend the first time while you work it out.

I suggest you go Siren, otherwise known as the best class ever (although most people will tell you Soldier).
I don't know about that. Brick can pretty much annihilate anything in his path when he goes beserk
This! Oh god this! I've just restarted with Brick and have just picked up a Corrosive Artifact. The upshot of this is that Brick... Brick shoots acid from his fists.

I love this game. After the Dragon Age catastrophe, I'm loving it more! :D

Awesome game. Im on a rare hunt, must fill 43 slots with oranges and purples!

Just like to add, this was my face when i was against a level 51 Spiderqueen Ultimate. It was such a fun, yet hard challenge!

Any chance you're on the PS3? I have an Orange and a couple of purples that I don't want to sell because I've got $9,999,999 and it seems like a waste. I wouldn't mind trading for a decent purple/orange assault rifle (I'd have to check it out first, nothing below 70 bullets in the clip and an 8.0 fire rate :p) or an Eridian assault rifle variant (if such a thing exists) :)

OI! i have a question about the loot, can anyone pick up the loot or can you only pick up the loot from the enemies you kill? Like say im in the middle of a firefight and I get a really good drop but I cant pick it up yet, can someone just up and steal it from me?

Loot showers out on the ground from defeated foes, and anyone can grab it. Money is evenly split between party members, but ammo, guns, and health have to be managed by the party.

The co-op isn't quite like L4D, insofar as you can't jump in and start blasting, because of the levelling system. It's easy enough to set up a game with friends.

It's not that great anyway. Imagine something somewhere between L4D and Fallout 3 but not half as good as either and you get the idea.
Think of the opposite of this post and then you get the idea!

Its great fun! Arguably one of the best games out this year! The only thing it has in common with L4D is the fact that its a four player, fps, coop. Thats it. In comparrison to FallOut3 they are both set in wastelands, one post-apocolyptic, one alien desert. you can also go up levels and take classes in both games. they are both FPS's. There are aliens and alien weapons in both of them. the mission gaining and completeing are similar in structure. They both have a main story line that is not very compelling. Theres the similarities listed.

I personally, much prefer it to Fallout 3. It is just more frantic, more items, more fps, more fun! Fun your freinds can join you in with missions and the random item generator! Great stuff!

The differences are that fallout focuses more on the characters and story than manic fps gameplay. It is slower paced making the combats in borderlands much more intense and frantic, and the combat and looting 'Diablo style' after combat is pretty much what borderlands is about. if you like the idea of playing 4 player coop, fps, Diablo 2 with the new storyline then get it!
does have one main problem tho!:-
Its near on impossible to set up a multiplayer on the pc, because they went through gamespy instead of using a multiplayer platform like left 4 dead's that work and work well! Ive near given up on the PC multiplayer as it gives no help on trying to set up a game with your freinds and it just doesnt work!! i think ive found that you can join about 1 in every 30 or 40 games that come up in the server lobby and even then its laggy!
To avoid that problem you could buy it for one of the two consoles and use linkup or xbox live then i imagine it will play like it was made to! Although, we occasionally suffered being blinded by beams of dark pixels on the PS3 split-screen. Anyone else get that?

If you have problems with multilayer games on PC then try this [http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showpost.php?p=1596986&postcount=3].

Port forwarding isn't as hard as it seems.

Is the 4 player co-op something like Left 4 Dead?
No it's nothing like Left 4 Dead, in fact in my eyes it's a piece of crap for multiplayer. Port forwarding isn't so bad, but the admin and player controls are shockingly bad. It's pretty much built from the ground up to help griefers ruin your day and it has almost no balancing and it seems to have a very poor flow of play as well, the slightest thing can freeze you all to one area, it can be really frustrating.

It's ok if you play with a strict group of friends that you know and comunicate well with. But Left 4 Dead it is not, avoid playing with randoms like you'd avoid a crazy man on the train.

Single player is pretty good though, probably very good but I'm playing Stalker too at the moment and that beats it in the head.

Just listen to this. One time I found a rocket launcher that rapid-fires 5 rockets. These rockets explode in a beautiful scene of 5 story high flames. Every time I use it I feel like I just justified buying the game over and over. GET IT!

If you don't care for port forwarding use Game Ranger [http://www.gameranger.com/]. It's definately easier.

A very simple tutorial can be found here [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_qsCPFXSgc].
