JUST as the subject says above heh, is there any plus/negative side to having borderlands on the PC instead of the 360? how would the co-op work then? any advantages over the 360 etc..

Whichever you have more friends to play with on would be a better choice. It's only fun in co-op.

Some missions make me feel like i'm being punished for not playing co-op.

This.

Also from playing the PC version I can really tell that the devs had consoles in mind when they made this game.

Try actually reading even the title first. If you had, you'd realize that PS3 isn't an option.

Anyway, I'd say the 360 because, having played both versions, I can say that the console versions (both 360 and PS3 but in your case 360 because that addresses the actual topic) control much better. The game was clearly made for a console, not a PC. That having been said, if you have a million friends on the PC version and none on the 360, take the PC. If multiplayer is not a factor or the amount of friends is roughly even, go for the 360.

Well if you care about the DLC that is only coming out for 360 and PS3 then perhaps get the 360 version, though I doubt either version is better.

If you're getting the PC version, get ready to open some ports if you want to even play multiplayer.

I hear that multiplayer isn't as good on the PC, but that the PC version has vastly superior graphics. I have it for 360, it's my game of the year, and I don't even have live. You can't really go wrong.

The multi-player services on the PC suck....the only thing the PC version got is its mouse and keyboard...which still got me to buy the game on the PC instead...=P

I seem to recall that the developers themselves recommended the PC version.

What more do you want?

The one you have friends playing the game on. Beyond that, 360 has less pains in getting multiplayer (This is VERY significant), and gets DLC about a month before PC (Both do get the DLC mind you). PC has better graphics, Digital Distribution, and a commonly accepted better control scheme in keyboard/mouse (The advantage of all of these is subjective). Weigh your pros and cons from there.

The PC version has some horrible multiplayer issues (Gamespy, who USES that any more!?) but from what I understand these issues can be fixed by playing through some third-party servers. I have conviniently forgetten the name of this service or their providers.

If you want no muss and no fuss I'd say xbox 360

If you have more PC buddies and are willing to go through a bit of a trial, PC

Surprised this hasn't turned into a flame war yet, but then again, it's about the same game. I had the 360 version (cause my PC couldn't handle it) and I didn't play co-op due to having a strict NAT. I'd say whichever you have friends willing to go co-op with you on.

It's a hasty port to the PC, it goes against every fiber of my being... But 360.

At least the horrid UI is where it belongs there.

I myself got the PC version due to a lack of X360, but still.. nothing beats the mouse! xD
Too bad no friends play the game...

Borderlands is only the most fun when you are playing it in multiplayer.

And according to the Escapist's very own Shamus young the PC multiplayer sucks big time.

Basically you should avoid the PC version like the plague and here are the 2 main reasons.

"* When someone activates a level transition, it pulls everyone else through with them. This opens up the opportunity for griefing"

This only happened to me once but is very annoying. Also when a player goes into a menu it prevents everyone from travelling.

Now this wouldn't be that big of a problem except..

"* You can't ever kick anyone ever. Once they're in the game, you're stuck with them."

You can kick people very easily in the 360 version. Sorry but the PC multiplayer seems far too broken to be much fun. As a PC gamer and console gamer I can assure you the controls are not bad at all. Just play around with the look sensitivity until you find a setting thats comfortable for you. I recomend turning it down to a little more than a quarter from the default setting. The headaches from the PC multiplayer are not worth the barely noticable prettier graphics.

Edit: Actually it looks like you can kick people in the PC version using the esc menu. Still the rest of the stuff looks annoying.

I keep hearing this, and yet mine worked absolutely flawlessly. Why is it that everyone insists on breaking their computers. :x
