Yea, I still play games with friends. I play TF2, Magicka, and Terraria. I just can't stay attached to the game for some reason. Like the other day I was playing LFD2 with friends and just left the game early caused I was so bored of it lol. Sounds so depressing.
Hmmm... Are you playing the games in the same room or just online? I find proximity to hilarious friends never fails to amuse me. Online hilarity isn't as awesome as hilarity in the same room.
This is true. I have a lot more fun with people that are nearby then just over the internet, but like I said just moved to a new town and have no one here yet.

Lol I can't drink alone. Though I have before done this. Whole bottle of jack while playing CSS. Ended up on the floor and a puddle of puke.

True, the criteria is always the motivation to do anything to cure boredom.

Watch nothing but Hey Arnold video's all week...I shit you not, that's what I've been doing.

I don't even remember a lot of the episodes and you know what? The show is not what I remember...

It's actually better! I understand things a bit more now, and the show can be pretty deep at times. It has good plots, great characters, and genuine humor. A lot more mature than I remember.

Just look for videos by a guy called ArnoldPhilShortman2. He has the best quality (1080p) and an assortment of episodes. He's disabled the videos from showing up on his channel, but his videos are still listed. Just click one with his username, and keep bouncing from video to video. You'll get the fun filler, the deeper episodes, etc etc. It should keep you occupied for awhile.

All is boring right now. Tired of all these lame FPS's and bored
of the old ones. I am bored of RTS's and having to rebuild everything from scratch.
You although might think I am boring, but I am not. I am thinking that I
can see myself finally breaking away from video games. I am starting to
suck at all my favorites that I used to be really good at. I think it is
my brain that is finally maturing or something. Though I might sound like a
dick what I say this, but games today just suck compared to what I used to play.

Thanks for reading I guess =P
Play some of the more obscure games then, Tales of Vesperia & maybe some Blazblue. There are games other than [*insert Call of Duty knockoff here*] after all.

Play with your cat?

Masturbate?

Or try deep strategy games rather than the shallow stuff that passes for entertainment these days.

hmm Im kinda where you are at right now, I would recomend animal crossing city folk as its only $20 now and its the sorta thing thats justs simple and addictive and laid back, also go retro like people said try playing games that dont have saves and are ment to be beat in one shot like smash bros (original), star fox, Im enjoying Kiby's dreamland on my 3ds right now also, I honestly am not playing anything that involves to much investment.

That phrase is one of those things that get funnier the more you think about them.
OT: Well then, play old games or just stop playing for a bit.

Then expand your horizons. It's likely your body saying it needs variety of the non-gaming type.

I was in the same funk as you for a while. You know what I did? Expanded into a whole bunch of other hobbies. Reading, writing, art. I'm trying to teach myself programming, working with microcontrollers (just got my Arduino kit today. Looks fun as heck.), building electronics, all those things that I would have done as a kid if I hadn't been gaming.

Guess what? I'm narrowing down my degree choices in college because of that funky, bored feeling I got from games. I still play, just not as often. Every cloud has a silver lining. Just go with it, and believe me, it will be great for you in the long run.

I got recommendations for you, and I'm gonna drop a ton on you, whether you like it or not. For reading, I've gotta say Discworld's worth looking at. If you want something more grim, then try A Song Of Ice and Fire. If you're willing to put up with the occasional wall of text, the pseudo-webcomic Homestuck is great. Neil Gaiman's stuff is pretty awesome in general. For older games, I'm gonna recommend Sacrifice. Think RTS, but you're a wizard, summoning and controlling your troops to kick the crap out of other wizards while stealing souls. You also get combat spells, of which some of them are glorious to behold.

I can't believe no one has commented on the first word of all my lines yet, but I do appreciate all the suggestions.

I do play some Victoria 2 every now and then, but I think I have spent more time in the tutorials then actual game play. There are like 10 different tabs and each tab has three tutorials for them. I might try it again here soon.

I may check out A Song of Ice and Fire. I really like dark things. Not cause I am emo or anything. Just prefer them. Like dark comedy movies.

I actually did play Sacrifice a lot back in the day. I was in middle school when that came out I think. It made me cry lol. Because I didn't have the internet then so I could not get help, but it is the only game that frustrated me to no end during installation. You had to use the dashes on the key pad to separate the codes in the CD Key. The one by back space didn't work lol. Took me 2 hours to figure that out. That game was awesome though.

I have tried programming quite a few times. I like mechanical operations that I can physically touch. I need to get into reading again though. I used to read all the time. I once started The Hobbit on a Friday and had it read all the way Saturday afternoon. I get bored pretty quickly of programming. The most I do with what I know is alter pre-made programs for like Counter Strike or something.

Same here. Programming can be tedious, though I suspect that may be because I'm just a beginner and get frustrated trying to figure out what's wrong with a limited knowledge of how to fix it.

But, there's always electrical engineering. That's what I'll be doing with the microcontroller; programming it with C, but also putting diodes and transistors and LEDs on it to make little gadgets. The way electronics work has always fascinated me, but I've only recently been able to buy the things I need to experiment with it.

My dream project is to make a high altitude balloon and fly it to nearspace with a camera aboard to take pics. I've seen those projects online and they look really cool. Complex as all crap, but cool.

Like you, I used to read a lot, but got out of the habit of it in my teens. Personal and family issues kind of made me turn to games as a therapeutic mechanism, I think. Now that a lot of my problems have worked themselves out, I'm much more interested in getting out in the world.

Cool. I hope it goes well for you.

The thing that scares me about it is the math. I'm not bad at math if I apply myself, but I get scared of it and shut down. Of course, I've done that with a lot of other things as well so...yeah.

Anyway, I guess we'll both be seeing how it goes, eh?
