What bosses have let you down?

The Butcher in Silent Hill origins created big expectations appearing some times before the battle (not to mention the shoes he had to fill being desing like Pyramid Head) and it turned out to be and easy kill one fight boss battle in a regular hotel kitchen running around in circles in wich you could only see him in two camera angles and his dead consists in falling on his knees, falling completely and then stab him with his own knife on the back. To think I changed my username to Butcher in an old silent hill forum befores SHO's release date.

(I searched the subject and found nothing)

Trance Kuja FF9. Kuja was a badass yet he was so weak at the end. He SHOULD have been much stronger imo, even possibly the final boss, but necron popped his head in and made me read a book to find out wtf he had to do with the game and why he was the final boss I had to fight.

Fable 2:Lord Lucien.

The only boss that has ever made me feel like my time playing the game was Wasted.

Please tell me the name of that book, because I still don't get it.

Honestly, this is probably my first and most memorable WTF boss moment. I never cared for the final few hours of FF9 for this very reason... it's as if you got to the Northern Crater in FF7 and all of a sudden Sephiroth turned out to have 2 or 3 bosses stronger than him. Never made any sense to me.

Seymour Omnis in Final Fantasy 10.

After two forms that were absolutely "YOU! GAME OVER! NOW!", his final and more cool-looking form was a joke.

EDIT: I'd like to know the name of the book too.

To elaborate, as ZeroPunctuation said in his review of Arkham Asylum, simply walking slowly and occasionaly twatting Croc in the head with a Twatarang was a major disappointment for me :(

The "Book" I mentioned (and i apologize for calling it a book, it just seemed that way to me) was referring to several pages of dialog explaining the reason behind Necron's appearance just before you fight him. It's been a while since i've last read it but it was something along the lines of necron wanting to destroy the crystal he created because of how selfish people such as kuja were in wanting to destory everything. Dont quote me on that as it's only from memory.

As for the sephiroth thing, I believe that info is filled in on the PSP game Crisis Core. Something about Degrading jenova cells and failed clones. I've played through most of the game and it doesn't make much sense to me either.

Anyways, another boss that was rather disappointing to me was in Fable TLC. The boss inside the academy, I've forgotten the name, But i believe it's the one where afterwards, you choose to kill your sister or let her live. To me, he was the bastard I wanted to kill for screwing everything up, but the fight against him was rather weak. I expected a much harder fight.

I'd have to say Lost Planet 2. Throughtout the whole game youre working towards this one creature and when you finally fight it, its easier than the bosses that come before it.

Gonna have to agree with you on that one, I spent the entire game in fear of when I would finally have to face the guy, and then it was... nothing, had a bit of a freakout the first time he popped up, after that it was just one long boring walk through a sewer.

Elizabeth Green in [Prototype]. That game makes me think of Destroy All Humans! 2, so I was hoping for a boss fight as epic as the boss fight with Kojira in DAH2. Instead?

Elizabeth Green is a big mass that sits in the street and has to be slowly clawed to death. She has 1 very cool attack, and several attacks that just annoy you and slow you down. Your health, armour, and healing abilities are high enough that she can't kill you, so the fight is an hour-long healing fest.

yea and when i found out it was quicker to use the line launcher it turned into the easiest part of the game.

The Spaniard was even easier than his grunts. At least his minions blocked...
