Branston Pickle is quite good but I'd always prefer a nice beetroot chutney or, as I'm a pretentious bastard, some Jalapeno and lime marmalade.
Jalapeno and lime marmalade sounds lovely. Where can I get it, and what do I do with it?
Well, I got the name a bit wrong, it's acctualy Jalapeño, Lime & Coriander Chilli Jelly, same basic principal. You can get it HERE http://www.chillisgalore.co.uk/ And I personaly put it on just about anything, it's especialy good on roast meat but it'll go with pretty much anything, I'm having some with the turkey at christmas this year.

It's worrying that I know so much about condiments.
Thanks for that, now that I see them, I've actually got some of their Jamaican Hot Chilli Jelly in my fridge. I got that from the local deli, so I'll hopefully be able to pick some up ASAP.

Oh, so because you're a doctor you're opinion regarding taste matters more than ours?

Branston Pickle and cheese were made for each other, that being said cheese is the only thing I eat BP with...

I like pickled onions but they make me feel a bit sick with all the vinegar. I've never had one of those long green pickles.

I can honestly say that I have never bought a product based on celebrity endorsement.
I'm sure Yahtzee is THRILLED that you think he's a celebrity. :D

This is hilarious. I wonder what other quintessential English products Yahtzee could endorse.

Gentleman's Relish? Mr. Brains Pork Faggots?

Just the thought of some American ZP fans asking their parents or supermarkets for Gentleman's Relish & Faggots is almost too funny.
Yeah, now just because you mentioned those, I want to try them. But what are pork faggots anyway? Chunks of pork in a jar?

Faggots [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faggot_(food)] are like a meatball made with liver & onions, maybe some other ingredients too depending on the recipe & area.

Gentleman's Relish [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentleman%27s_Relish] is very salty, but nice spread on toast.

That's the one thing that makes me sad about the internet though. Getting to talk to people about all the awesome things they have in their country that I'd so much like to try but will probably never have in my country (America).

Ah, well, I digress.
On the other hand, everything costs half the price it does over here (U.K.) :p

You guys get the best sweets/pop drinks tho.

Oh. So it's just relish.

Meh.
exactly, I don't get what the big deal is about it. also, a relish and cheese sandwhich sounds disgusting.
Relish and some crappy cheese in sandwich probably is disgusting. But this is Branston pickle and extra strong Cheddar cheese in a sandwich. There is a difference.

But I do agree its probably not to American tastes.

Yeah, that does suck. Why is it so hard to equalize end-user costs between nations/currencies?

I'm not sure I would agree 100%. I read a CNET article about an Israeli soda company that sells mixing machines and powder for soda that has much less harmful artificial ingredients and much more taste in it. Apparently it's cheap *and* good. I want some of that.

The local Asian markets usually have pretty good sweets (low cost and less unhealthy).

-----

Is the reverse of my lament true? Are any of you jonesing for some American goodness that is not available locally to you?

I don't know... I know a lot of people, myself included, who love all sorts of foods. To me, food is like an art actually, I love trying new things.

You can get Branston Pickle in the US! On a whim, I checked out the local World Market, and lo and behold, there it was, complete with a glowing Jesus-esque halo! Naturally, I snatched it up, and the next time I make a grilled cheese sandwich, I will slather it in Branston Pickle.

In response to the OP - yes, I did buy it because of repeated references to its divinity by Mr. Yahtzee. Whether or not it actually contains Love, hope, happiness, Jesus, and heroin remains to be seen; I will keep you posted!

Are the only sold inn the UK and Australia? I've looked everywhere here (US) and I can't find them.

EDIT: I just read the above post, so you can be certain that A) I don't read every comment in a thread, B) I'm going to Wal-Mart later, and C) I have to pee
