I don't get why people laugh when other's describe games.

In a world where were a film series about a robot with an Austrian accent sent back in time to kill the mother of an unborn resistance leader is a considered a masterpiece and a classic, where the hell does anyone get off laughing about a game storyline?
Good point.

I feel like Fallon's audience isn't full of gamers so they just look down on his game promotion sections as childish, not knowing how complex many really games are. It's sad to see that gaming hasn't become more widely accepted.

Is it just me, or is YouTube being especially shit? It's taken me 30 minutes to download up to 3:00. In what I've seen, however, Tim is made of win.

Saeurbraten? Is that you?
I see you know my Avatar...
Yup. Cube 2 is nothing short of absolute genius. And it's about 9000x better than Quakeworld :p

I didn't really get into Cube back in the day, but I recently downloaded Cube 2 which is a lot more interesting.

But I'm considering donating my own sound effects to the project, because the ones in use now are horrible D:

This is what will keep Fallen on the air, he has no talent, so he gets his audience to listen to game devloppers, an audience which will become gamers for that reason.
i think it's the other way around. Jimmy's more likely to attract gamers to his audience with this.

i forgot to mention this before, but i'm impressed they booked the designer to talk about a game with as much star power as Brutal Legend. Most shows would have gotten Ozzy or Jack Black on to say "oh yeah, i did this game, it's really cool!" and not much else of substance.

I think it's a good thing games are getting their due attention. They are as transformative of our culture as films, but no one seems to recognise this!

It would have made more sense though if it had been Jack Black to come on the show (from a marketing point of view).

They kinda didn't say it was a comedy at that point. People just laughed at "enslaved by demons" like it's a ridiculous and unheard of concept.

Jimmy said "This game is gonna be hilarious" and Jack Black is a known comedic actor, plus they played a clip beforehand too.

My point is they didn't laugh because the game was a comedy, they laughed at the premise which by itself isn't humorous or wasn't described in a funny manner.

I hate to tell you this, but...
[sub]Cats are secretly one of the master races of the illuminati. can't say the same about weasels though. ask the guy on the Isle Of Wight. he knows more than I do. Beware of the Lizards.[/sub]
I can safely say that the illuminati do not exist and even if they did lizards were never ever part of it

Finally, a violent, cartoony game with swearing and smoking.
I'm sure XIII had that, but then again it's pretty obscure.

Anyways, I pre-ordered my copy and boy am I excited for it. Apparently ages ago when Tim had the idea people didn't think metal would be liked so much so they suggested he make it hip hop. Might be false but I think a hip hop version would be terrible, so it's great he got to do his pure metal.

XIII was more of a european comic book style. I meant more along the lines of Ratchet & Clank, only with gore, swearing and smoking.

PLEASE don't let the PC port suck. (Lousy mouse control, or worse! NO mouse control! *Cough,cough,RE4*)

On a related note, I love Tim Shafer's response to Activision attempting to sue EA over Brutal Legend AFTER Activision cut BL from their production list, "If they liked it, they shoulda put a ring on it. Oh, great. Now I'll get sued by Beyonce as well."

Hilarious.
