Interesting, so the guy who gets punched in the face is the real bully. I always remember my bullies telling me to "Get to class" and pushing me into the classroom so they can bully me some more. Get real kid, that story doesn't hold water.
What a twit. The big guy is seen, obviously just standing there. If he were all upity and talking shit to little man, and little man walked over, Casey wouldn't have people just standing around by him. There are two girls, just talking amongst themselves, right by Casey. If they heard Casey talking noise, they most definitely would have walked off. Wasn't until that little shit came over and punched him. He's just sad that everyone has seen it.

Look I don't care what he does on FB (especially when it looks fake), or what kind of story he tells the press... he was a bully, and he got the shit kicked out of him for it. Sure that's not the whole story but that doesn't mean that this kid isn't a little punk. Even if we believe that Haynes is the true bully (get outta here), a verbal snap to go away is not equal to the amount of cheap punches this kid threw. Haynes stood there silently taking this kid's punches for a good minute and a half before he snapped. Bullies don't wait until their rage boils over to retaliate... victims do.
Nice try there with the teary (his eyes were dry) phone call and the typical news station "sad story" music. At least his mom seems to see through his bullshit and tries to act like a parent... that is, simultaneously feeling bad for both boys, but not letting her son off the hook.

You're right, I don't know. Despite being the fat, nerdy, introverted kid at school and being a teacher for the past few years, I've never seen a bully group like what you describe, nor been the target of any prolonged bullying.Estoki said:
I've seen groups of friends rally around a member, even when he's doing something wrong. And I've seen a kid act out because of some unrelated problems at home. The only place I've seen what you describe has been in movies and TV shows. And usually not the good ones at that.
To be honest, I hope I never buy into those stereotypes. Even if I do encounter it, I hope I always approach it as just another kid making mistakes, that needs to be taught to be better.
I feel terrible for both kids family's, but Gale shouldn't have told his friends "Hey mates, lets film me beating up a fat kid!" I want to see an interview with whomever was filming at this point.

Casey was cornered, outnumbered, taunted repeatedley, and he went off in the same fashion I probably would have. Is it really necessary to characterize the larger boy as obese? He probably gets enough teasing about his weight as it is and now media outlets are slapping the "obese" label on him. Boy, that's great for his self esteem, I'm sure.

I've been bullied my little fucks like him and I can tell when they're lying through his teeth; and he is. He didn't apologise until his dad told him to and he insinuated he was actively bullying, and not just retaliating, when he was asked "will you ever bully again?".
