To put it in the words of the aussies: this kid's a bogan (thank you, Encyclopedia Dramatica). For those unfamiliar with the bogan, you can compare them to the American redneck/wigger and the British chav. Plus, at his age, he has an eyebrow ring. Come on, WHAT 12 YEAR OLD HAS A FUCKING EYEBROW RING AND IS SOME INNOCENT LITTLE SAINT?!

Let's look at the facts here for a minute, shall we?

-He's not even really crying when he's on the phone at the beginning.
-After the call, there's NO hint of tears.
-His voice is so monotone when he's trying to garner sympathy.
-I believe it was one of HIS FRIENDS that started recording him PICKING A FIGHT with Casey.
-He was the one throwing the punches. Casey merely went all Zangief on him, slammed him once, then walked away.
-That picture of the Facebook convo where he said a girl should be raped and beaten.

He's a piece of shit and a liar. Fuck this kid, I would say his life is gonna be ruined by this, but the fact of the matter is... he's a bogan, of COURSE his life is ruined.

i think the slam was a good enough job at putting him at his place.
I do not believe that his behavior on the interview video conveys this message. Please give an example to support your opinion.

Should ratty over here have been humiliated on a global scale? Maybe not. However, one does not change because one should change - one changes because of an event. Ratty would have continued being scum until something else major would have shown him otherwise, which in all likely hood would have been years later. In the end I believe this will do more good than harm to Ratface McGee, even if he has a hellish period in his life.

Now Mr. Zangief? He's not going to be touched. Had the media not picked up on this, Rattys mates, or likely his feral father, would have 'intervened', Ratty wouldn't have been suspended and people would have still picked on Zangief.

So, being humiliated on a the world stage fair? Fuck knows, but it's going to do a lot of good.

It is easy to see what happened here... little Zangief is a socially awkward kid who says the wrong thing and is mean to people for no reason, and the skinny kid seems like a complete punk who for some reason is trying to justify his actions even though he would be just as much in the wrong, if not more, for what happened in the video.

Thing is.......If the large kid DID tell him to get to class and call him an idiot, its still the smaller kids fault for over reacting and attacking him.

If we all flew off the rail and attacked every person that throws a minor insult at us, the world would be torn apart in a day.

So I still side with the larger kid.......calling that small kid an idiot may have been a stupid thing to say but the smaller kid was way out of line for punching him in the face and stomach for that reason alone.....he got what he deserved.

Even if this is true, the "bullying" Casey committed was telling the smaller kid to get to class and supposedly randomly pushing him once and then running off? Wow, I wish bullies were like that in my high school.

This kid is full of it.
what your bullies didnt enforce the bell schedule and then run off to class? the bullies at my old elementary did that to the kids all the time, also when they get hit they don't respond till they get hit a couple of times cause you know they are just polite and all.
The same thing happened in my school years ago, the bullies there were a true class of gentleman.

i mean: on the internet he is getting messages that he must die and other things. yeah i think its ok the make fun of him, but to some people want that he must be punished for the fact that he 'started' the fight. i disagree with that. i think the slam was a good punishment.

If he's right, it still wouldn't qualify the punches in the face.

If he just calls you an idiot it's still mean but you don't punch him in the face. And you Certainly don't have people record it. If you don't want to look bad, I also suggest not doing a little faux pas "boxer dance" after punching him in the face.

And might I suggest that everyone chill the hell out? This kid is TWELVE. I swear I see less seething hatred towards F-ing SERIAL KILLERS.

Nice piercing kid. I imagine your enjoying the publicity and with your mother behind you you cannot loose. But when you grow up you'll find a place called the forums and when you flaunt that you came out on top your gonna be living troll bait.

Problem School District? :D

The kids just trying to justify being a twat. Just from the image of his smug little face you can tell he's enjoying the attention and is just being a bigger twat.

If I were the other kid, I'd body slam him again (it wouldn't solve anything (proably make it worse) but it would sure feel good)

3-4 kids with a camera, filming it and laughing it all up vs 1 obese kid who didn't throw the first punch? Yep, the big kid is 100% a bully here! I mean, come on! It's regular bully tactic - go in alone against a bunch of people who are punching you in the face

Now, I'll say that I do believe that the kid was bullied, and the internet's been hard on him.

However, I don't imagine Casey as the bully type. I can see Casey saying "get to class, you idiot", because I also believe Casey's story about being bullied his whole life, and that can make a kid angry and defensive.

The part about Casey bad-mouthing Ritchard, I can understand, but it's exceptionally hard to believe Casey full-on started it.

The way I see it, while Casey's story holds up, and I wouldn't blame him if he didn't include telling Ritchard off. It's believable, and wouldn't hurt his reputation, it may have just been left out, if it's true.

Ritchard's backstory I think can hold up, but if he tries to say that Casey started the hitting, and Ritchard was the underdog, I'm not for it... well, okay, Ritchard was the "underdog" in the sense that in the scenario where Casey fought back, Ritchard wasn't going to stand much of a chance. But I still feel Ritchard's not the most reputable witness.

Gotta agree that the people here are a bit... aggressive. But, then again, a lot of these guys have been bullied before posting. None of them were murdered before posting.

Personally I've been in the good fortune to not have had either, but I see what they're saying. Still, while I think the stories clink together, and I don't see the situation as having happened any other way, Ritchard's not in the position to play the sympathetic card.

After all, he had friends and a recording. His best approach, I think, would be an apology, and try to make amends with The Casey. Perhaps a friendship could emerge?

Perhaps the world will see that the line between the bully and the bullied is merely a wavering ripple? That all differences fall in the face of our common trait; that we are human?

...Cool story, bro.

Meh I prefer the first one, music is half the humor XD

OMG does this mean we have to philosophically rage about each others decisions until we've discovered every avenue or debate and ultimately start 20 threads about this ONE incident while being interviewed by Fox News or Today Tonight, SIMPLY because some might like the first video and others the second?

Seriously people...knock it off...kid tries bullying again he's a dead man, we get that part.

I agree with what others said.
Additionally, I felt a mix of anger and disappointment when he smiled while being asked "Are you sorry?".
Sigh.

Man, let me tell you.
That one guy, used to hit me with his tophat and then tell an amusing anecdote vis-a-vis my social class. That was BRUTAL.

And it´s kind of sad that the best that kid can come up with it "He told me names and kind of pushed me around a bit, maybe.".
