As a long-time Halo fan, being there since the original Halo CE since 2004 when I was around nine or so (and no, I am not mentally traumatized or emotionally unstable, Jack Thompson), and Bungie and Halo's been a huge part of my childhood.

See you starside, Bungie. No matter its faults, Halo will remain a big staple of my favorite games and a beautiful, nostalgic memory.

... Now, to watch 343i either recapture Halo's spirit with 4 or run it into the ground. I like being an optimist, but I'm leaning toward the latter with some of the recent changes to Reach.

Many thanks for all the memories, Bungie.

Halo's the series that really got me playing console games. I've always played them, but until Halo, I mainly did my game playing on the PC. Halo 2 also got me into playing multiplayer on a console.

This is to say nothing of the LAN parties me and my friends would have with Halo 1 and 2. Good times...

So thank you, Bungie. Thank you.

"sob, cry, sniff sniff" I will miss them, bungie was one of my childhood developers! I don't care what anyone else says Bungie best developers when it comes to fan interaction!

"salute"

Seriously, I don't even play Halo and I felt the need to salute at my computer screen.

I blame the setting sun/"see you starside" thing. I always get super teary at goodbyes/"see you space cowboy"/"bang"/"good luck and good night".

Good luck on your future endevors, Bungie. I already know my father and brother have money saved for your next franchise.

Captcha: goosebumps.

>.> How the hell did captcha know that happened? That's just wrong, dude.

Aww, Bungie.

Before college, I didn't understand Halo. Now, I at least have respect for the series, and the developers that really do care about their fans.

And nothing of value is lost.

Seriously I was never a fan of the Halo series and I felt Bungie's best work was before they joined up with Microsoft(Marathon for example, despite I am not a fan of macs ether).
I agree Marathon was godly for it's time. I still play it now and again since it is open source.

OT: I always enjoyed the Halo Series. It was a fun little escapade but I am looking forward to what Bungie is doing next more than what 343 is doing with Halo 4.

Halo CE was 2001 for me. Played it constantly.

2, less so.

3 Much, much less.

And then I never played ODST or Reach.

I still love the first two though Bungie. Halo won't be the same.

I'm not a massive Halo fan (anymore) but it's nice to see them have respect for their own ip. Leave the whoring out for Microsoft to do
(Halo 4 anyone?)

Love Bungie! Always looking out for the fans and doing special deals, treats, laughs, etc. Absolute legends of the industry!

Still gotta say, can't wait for number 4!

And if only that was the end of the series.
Couldn't agree more, I am incredibly sceptical of Microsoft's plans for Halo now.
I think Reach was the right ending we don't want another Mass Effect 3 or worse the sort of endings that simply set up further sequels.

I'd recognize that horizon anywhere.
That's my favorite Halo 3 map, Sandbox.

Ah, Bungie. Many good memories were had there.

So many great memories with those games. I have immense respect for Bungie and the amount of love and energy they put into their community. One of the best developers of all time. Their involvement will be sorely missed and I can only hope that 343 doesn't drain the soul out of the universe, and that Bungie continues to continue to do great things with something new.

I wish they could have left it with Reach, though. The ending of that game was perfectly appropriate when I thought about Bungie's "retirement."

Say what you want about the Halo games, but I enjoyed them immensely. The memories and bonding experiences created by the entire franchise (except Halo Wars) were some that I will always cherish. I'm really sad to see the franchise end, but all good things must I suppose. I can't wait to see what Halo 4 has in store for us.

Oh that hit me right in the nostalgia. Good times in Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer, thanks for the fun Bungie and good luck to whatever y'all do in the future.
