Apparently there is some twisted logic behind it. All Microsoft gets from a PC gamer is the price of the 0S, however powerful your computer is. I think they only get a cut of the sales if its a GFWL game. But with the Xbox 360, they get the console profit and platform holder money. So theyd rather you buy an Xbox 360 to play your games than a PC, as the Gaming money is in the Xbox.

Yeah, Microsoft are assholes.

Never like the games much, but damn... Those are some impressive numbers and some of the most loyal fans out there. Congrats Bungie. You are loved.

The image of the setting sun is really touching, thanks for the (many) wonderful memories Bungie.
This. So many manly tears...

So many great memories with those games. I have immense respect for Bungie and the amount of love and energy they put into their community. One of the best developers of all time. Their involvement will be sorely missed and I can only hope that 343 doesn't drain the soul out of the universe, and that Bungie continues to continue to do great things with something new.

I wish they could have left it with Reach, though. The ending of that game was perfectly appropriate when I thought about Bungie's "retirement."
Yeah, I agree completely, the ending to Reach felt satisfyingly final.

A tip of the hat to my favorite developer of all time leaving my most favorite series of all time. Reach felt like a great end to Bungie's work on the series not only from looking at the game but the franchise as whole. Halo's popularity in general had been on the decline ever since CoD became "the" popular game and now with Halo gone to 343i for good the Bungie community feels much more tight knit now than it ever has.

Plus when it comes to community interaction only Valve can stand up to Bungie as its equal. Which makes me sad when Bungie doesn't nearly get the kind of respect they deserve because some people didn't like a technically revolutionary game that thrust console FPS games into the biggest spotlight.

Hard as it is [for me] to believe, there was a time when I really hated Halo, Master Chief and everything else related to the franchise. That was of course before I had even played a single Halo game. Yeh, I was that kind of person.

But anyway, looking forward to whatever Bungie will get up to next. I told them to make a space sim, so that's what it's going to be.

But seriously, one of my favourite parts of Reach was the brief space combat segment. Did that ever remind of duking it out in Freelancer all those years ago!

Halo: Reach, now there was a game that managed to have a rather bittersweet ending that was still able to end on a positive note...

Interesting to see how Reach stacked up to Halo 3. Shame Halo 3's pretty a graveyard now, it's still the superior game for me.
