Yes, Bungie could learn some things from Infinity Ward in terms of single-player. However, I hope they stay away from CoD4 multiplayer. That thing is a steaming pile of shit.
You've got to be kidding. CoD4s Multiplayer was WAY better than Halo3's. There's a much higher level of customisation to suit a person's particular playing style and I'm not sure if it's just happening to me, but Halo3 Multi ALWAYS lags severaly and it takes about 7 Mins to find and get into a game. In CoD4 I pick the game type, a second later it's found a game and connecting me, a few more seconds and I'm in the pre-game lobby either going straight into the action or waiting a few more seconds for the game to start.
I'm just not patient enough to wait for Halo3 anymore.

Coming soon:

Call of Halo 2 - United Spartans
I would definitely play that.
I think that's pretty much the entire problem with the games industry summed up in a nutshell.
That and movie tie-ins.
Call of Halo 2 - United Spartans and the Philosopher's Stone?

Both companies could learn from each other, I'm not talking about making Halo more realistic, I'm just saying for one : Halo's melee is complete crap, it's not about who hits who first, it's about who has more life, and I'm sorry, but that's complete BS; if you can get in the melee first, you should get the kill. Likewise, IW, could learn from Bungie's always putting out new updates, the forge concept, screenshots, movies, etc.

I personally think that the story-telling styles in CoD4 and Halo 3 weren't better or worse than each other, they were just different. The POV thing worked for CoD because they were trying to achieve a sense of realism and immersion, which POV storytelling does very well. Halo was trying to make a more fantastical story, not focusing so much on the realism front (I mean, you're fighting aliens, who really cares about realism?), so the 3rd person scenos were a better choice in my opinion.

I'm glad that Isla is acknowledging the achievement of another game and stating that they can learn from it. I have much more respect for Bungie now, way to not be an idiot like CliffyB or Itagaki!
Exactly my thoughts, its good to see a respectful developer being honest for once.

Yep! My thoughts exactly.

Also the whole gamecam thing has been done in FPS too. Quake III has many playback options for recorded demos including camera angles and all that jazz. Now granted Halo 3 offered an easier interface, whereas Quake III's really doesn't have an interface, you need to use the console or write a custom configuration file to have camera functions bound to keys.

There is however a Q3 client known as Quake III Movie Maker's Edition which adds even more features to the base Q3 demo playback.

I loved CoD 4's multiplayer. A lot more than Halo 3's multiplayer. I dont know what it is, but playing online in Halo 3, I tend to get pissed more than I get enjoyment.
It's cause COD4 is Newbie friendly

hence why us good ol COD4'ers have to complain about 12 year olds on the headset

Map Editor,and theater for COD6
Oh, very this. I would love to see how I, or other people I play against, die (without having to switch off, back out and load Theatre Mode).

As for the Map Editor, why not? My first experience with map editing has been with Far Cry: Instinctsand believe me, that was some truly epic fun right there. MOAR MAP EDITORZ PLZ!

EDIT: I can't believe it; who necroed this thread?
