It is a good game and it has an awesome soundtrack. I personally prefer Burnout 3 or revenge. They are just plain awesome. And well I did miss the crash junctions. Showtime was nothing compared to that.

I rented the game a couple years back. It was pretty fun for a while, but it became pretty bland and shallow after a bit.

I didnt like it at first, kept missing the right road, but I got it free on pc due to a promotion, so Ill add you and give you a challenge, which I will fail at.
I'll keep an eye out if I am online.

I'm not a big fan of racing titles other F-Zero, Mario Kart 64/DS/Wii, and Crazy Taxi. SO I was surprised that I loved Burnout Paradise so much. Driving around a large open city, discovering new paths to take, enjoying the showtime, going as fast as I can for as long as I can, etc. All quite fun and enjoyable to me.
I never had trouble finding races or marked man events, as I just drive around until I locate a new one.

Mind you I play roughly several of hours of it a month and that's it. I won't get every trophy (I have it on PS3 obviously), I won't track down every single little thing, I just enjoy the exploring and doing what I can't in real life. Driving at ridiculous speeds, knocking other cars until they are piles of rubbish, and parallel parking. Also every time I turn on the game it I get a new car, so that's amusing.

So I have a C license I think it is now and despite the fact it'll be a year or two before I get the final one. I'm having a blast with it. Which compared to the ten minutes I played at most of any past Burnout game? That's rather remarkable for me.

Personally, I loved the game. Platinum'd and everything. I must admit that I almost liked the bike missions more than the car missions.

Wish I would have kept it instead of trading it in.

It would be a good game but the open world element to the races ruined it for me. So many times I've taken the wrong route or crashed because I was looking at the minimap and not the oncoming van. I don't mind an open world for selecting stages, that's nice. But during races - not so much.

I downloaded the demo and like Yahtzee said having to look at the map all the time during a race was annoying. Also to me the main draw of burnout is takedowns and when you're going down a route none of your opponents are using then you don't get to do those. So I probably won't be getting it.

I do hope they make a new one with closed circuits, burnout is one of my favorite franchises.
You don't have to look at the map, the game gives visual clues with the turn signals as well as the upcoming street signs at the top to tell you when to turn. If you know where you are going from experience, just like in real life, you know how to get there as well.

They have modes just for take downs, marked man, survive until you get to other places, etc events as well. So you still get plenty of that. Most normal races though, nI can always do at least one or two take downs and I barely focus on that aspect.
