The fact that it's there means someone is buying it and the company or whoever gets extra money. Its business. And it works.

Only if it was the only way you could get a WRX. I'm a sucker for that car but if you get it through unlocking then no because i would be desperatly trying(even if it sucks like in some race games). I personally don't know anyone who would buy it.

That would take all the fun out of the game. And plus, I already have it free. It's like paying for sprite I drank... right after I payed for the whole meal (drink included).

It's for lazy people who have money to spare and don't want to earn things.
Personally I think it's rubbish, at least codes were free, but paying for such a thing? I mean really now, that's just foolish.

The stupidity of this reminds me of the people that buy clothes/accessories for their xbox live avatar.

I personally prefer Grid. I can't deal with dirt roads. Paying to unlock stuff sort of defeats the point of buying the game.

On an unrelated note, I notice "Uber" is underlined in a red squiggly, classifying it as not-a-word. I could have sworn we had decided this was an official word now that it's been used in 2 Commercials. (First some maxi-pad thing, the second Stride referring to their gum as 'uber bubble')
It's a German word, so it requires German spelling. It's still not recognized by my dictionary but at least it's the proper spelling. It's not uber, but über.
Well, I know that... I just can't remember how to make a lowercased version of that, but uppercase is quite easy to remember. alt+666 ftw :D

Ok, just making sure. After all, I did mention that they make you pay for them walkthroughs if you're going to get it off of live.

What's the fun in that? That's like automatically starting at level 70 in MW2, there's just no satisfaction of being given everything immediately. I like earning my stuff, dammit!

And EA sold cheats for their games, instead of just including them w/ some code.

Companies will try to make any kind of pay DLC "the norm". They dont care if they get ridiculed for it, because in the off chance it catches on they just created a market for lots of free money for a long long time.

Eh.

I don't like racing games anyway.

Unless they glorify crashing in really interesting ways.

Isn't that what cheat codes are for? Passed around the playground and embedded into to your brain so that 15 or so years later you can remember level select on Sonic and Streets of Rage.

It's funny that while legislators will implement laws prohibiting certain types of cell phone and credit card fees, gamers are pretty much left in the wilderness. Maybe we should start a consumer rights petition to legally restrict what types of DLC can be sold.
