I see where your coming from, and here's how I see it: If it must be a British/American situation, continue the previous story, 'cause I like Price, Soap and Gaz (even though Gaz is dead and Price probably is too). Otherwise, another country would be nice.Raven28256 said:For the people who aren't sure: Yes, this IS by Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward and Treyarch trade off each year, so it is Infinity Ward's turn. Besides which, Activision confirmed that IW is making "Call of Duty 6 (Working title; seems to be named "Modern Warfare 2" now)" a while back.
Anyone hoping that it isn't a direct sequel or anything? And that we have some different enemies? I don't really want to fight Russians and Arabs again; they are in every other modern warfare game already too...Gives us a new, fictional modern war in a new place. Hell, let us take a whack at the Chinese or something...
...
Actually, that would make Modern Warfare 2 the second modern shooter in 2009 to have us fight the Chinese. Operation Flashpoint 2 is the US vs China.
Also...Is anyone else irked that we don't see enough countries as the "good guys" that aren't the US or UK? Who wants Modern Warfare 2 to be REALLY edgy, risky, and controversial and not include the US or UK? Why can't we play as, say, Israel or Germany or something? Am I the only one who is getting bored with the same two or three "good guy" countries saving the day?
Or here's a thought: maybe we could have separate campaigns for each side. I know it doesn't seem Cod-y, that's only because the series began as WWII, and who wants to play as Nazis?
EDIT:
It probably began development before Cod4 generated such massive amounts of cash, and when it did, they were too far along to stop. To begin with, they were probably reacting to all the people going "Why would you go to modern times? if it aint broke, don't fix it."fish food carl said:You know what I don't get about WaW? That it's WW2. Fine, they discovered a popular theme, used it until IW made CoD4... awesomely popular game, awards, money, huge fanbase. Why would they not take the fucking hint and stay with Modern Warfare? It baffles me, that they would ignore the mountainous piles of cash CoD4 generated.
