ahhh all the hating from people who don't like CoD, who think they are better than people who do like CoD is brightening up my morning, because I am always looking for a good laugh.

But seriously, with a game series as big as CoD, why not make a convention for it? People will want to go to it. Just because some of you guys don't like it doesn't automatically make it a stupid idea.

It's strange how people like to act mature on this site, until CoD gets mentioned then everyone seems to band together to act like idiots.

I came into this thread expecting a lot of swollen heads up petty backsides, I wasn't wrong. That's the only problem with the Escapist, the miasma of unwarranted smugness and false superiority. I hate to sound like a broken record I have to ask, how empty is your life to draw such self importance and status from games of all things?

read all of that and yes, yes and yes again. I mean I used to play CoD4 competitive and the mods on that balanced the weapons and gave each role a more defined feel and playstyle and implemented limitations upon the amount of classes within each team so as to not have a team of 5 snipers which would dominate any team and just turn it into a camp fest.

But yes since the game style was search and destroy it did require intimate map knowledge and a decent level of team play and communication (no where to the standards of the battlefield series though) and also a lot of individual skill (again not to the extend of quake or css) to quickly move from the start location into assigned positions and create killing fields before the enemy could do the same to you.

Its not the best competitive game but it worked. However this is just for CoD 4 which is probably one of the most balanced out of all other CoD's past 4 and a few before are absolutely terrible for competitive play and shouldn't be played as such.

Okay, so, I heard about this on Facebook first, and I got really excited about this "COD-CON" everyone was going on about first, but then I figured out it was about video games and not angling and I got really disappointed anyway i hope you kids have fun with your cod-con.
