So now they have three studios dedicated to a single franchise? What will happen to Activision if the CoD ship sinks?
To Activision? Very little, their Quarterly profits will dump for a couple years.

To Treyarch, Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward? Curtains, thank you and goodnight, collect your things into a box and leave the premises. Between the three of them there's 400-ish people who in two out of three cases were hired into a studio opened and funded solely to make Call of Duty. Even Treyarch's made nothing else since 2008, if CoD stops being profitable, they'll be the very first things out the door.

As for this announcement, means bugger all, CoD will still be an annual title, there are no more developers being added since Sledge was already helping the other two make CoD, it's meaningless marketing drivel and next year's (and the next year's) will be just like Ghosts and Modern Warfare and Blops.

So Treyarch give us zombie hordes, Infinity Ward gives us alien hordes... so what kind of horde mode will Sledgehammer offer?

Werewolf horde?
Lizard monster horde?
Giant bugs horde?
Vampires?
Owls?
Sentient peaches?
Well, if MW3 is anything to go by, it'll be hordes of soldiers. Like, actual human soldiers. That's what the Survival mode was in the game Sledgehammer already worked on.

What do they mean it didnt sell well? It was a top seller for 4 weeks in a row.
it sold a total of 19.04 million copies. most games dont even DREAM about it.
it is the 3rd best selling game of 2013 after GTA 5 and pokemon (two franchises you really cant beat).
