who out there loves everything .Hack related? games, manga, novels, anime, anything?

It's a game about a game, basically, that has garnered an almost cult-status in some sectors; it has a manga, short anime, etc.

I've been trying to get through the seven games on the PS2, but I haven't even beaten the first one yet. It gets repetitive and reminds me of my WoW days (only less noobs) but I like the story and want to experience it.

he's talking about the japanese franchise. just look for the manga's/ anime seirs somewhere and you'll see wether you'll like it or not

Wow...that takes me back. I enjoyed pretty much everything that came out in relation to .hack....maybe because it was the first gaming themed thing I came across. Managed to get through all 7 games...took forever, but I did it. Quite an enjoyable franchise though.

yeah, the gameplay sucks. but the story totally makes up for it. also, .hack//sign is my all-time favorite anime ever. it even beats out Cowboy Bebop.

there's basically an MMO that's 20 million players strong and is the most popular game ever. but it's infected by a virus and players start falling into comas. you play a player who stops the virus. AND IT IS AWESOME.

at least storywise. gameplay, however, it falls flatter then a shrinky-dink under a steamroller.

Anything within the first 4 games and .hack//SIGN was absolutely amazing. I can't stand anything outside of those though. They just don't have the same level of development and character attachment with them.

I thought Hacksign was amazing, and some of the manga was good as well.

The games were just terrible.

I only played one of them and that was enough to turn me off of everything about it. Despite how desperately a couple of friends wanted me to play them.

um... why must we fight? death note is cool too! and it's not like any dotHack anime is on right now... death note doesn't have much competition...

loved the original Dot.Hack anime and the games are decent with good plots, but couldn't stand the anime that came out after the first game series released. maybe the G.U. anime would be back to par, have to check it out sometime.

The old .hack games had a good story, but sucked gameplay-wise.
.hack//GU had a much better gameplay, i still liked the story, but it was not as good as the old games.

.hack//Sign and //Roots were some of my favorite animes.
